Just to let you know...
I have now completed all 12 arms @ 30². Before construction I am going to need to file the last 5 arm extensions of 15 that I last completed. Unfortunately that means 3600 hole faces to file. I'm having a break this weekend - my fingers need to recover some feeling.
By this time next week I will be in a position to say if it failed or not.

Are you quite sure that Bessler intended that that particular drawing be rendered physically, and not for some other purpose, perhaps?

All 12 arms at 30 have been filed to my satisfaction.
To recap...
In total there are 2,976 1/4 inch bars of brass, in 30 different sizes.
Each brass bar size organised in pieces of 8.
8,928 3/32 inch individual holes have been drilled, 3 in each bar.
1,140 1/8 inch holes have been drilled over the 3/32 in holes.
1,092 1/8 pins and 2,184 caps have been cut and fitted.
And 17,856 hole faces have at last been finally filed.
Those registered as friends on my youtube channel now have access to a short film I made today of the arms extending ability.
Now to the housing, let you know when that is complete, whatever the situation maybe...

I have decided to construct it - although I have 1 damaged arm that requires repair - should not take long. After repair I will insert the 12th and set each arm to extend from 8 to 16 inches (best apparent distance for displacement and is double it's closed length).
The 4 and 6 armed versions gravity rotated the wheel 30 degrees.
The picture below has 11 arms - the damaged arm missing.

The 12th wave has been fitted.
At the moment the waves have been restricted to a 4 inch oscillation for convenience and safety and is not enough to cause the wheel to rotate.
From the experiments I have carried out so far on the completed wheel...
The height difference between the open wave (opened from 8 to 16 inches secured at 12 o'clock), the closed wave (closed from 16 inches to 8 inches secured at 6 o'clock) and gravitational forces appear to cause the same 30° rotation as the 4 and 6 wheel version - the rotation mainly appears to be governed by the fully closing wave secured at 6 o'clock.
Tomorrow I hope to have fashioned 12 stopps that go beyond the wheels perimeter to stop the wave extending beyond 16 inches.
The waves smallest square is 1 inch and each square in the string is increased by 1/16th inch increments.

This is what torque=zero looks like.
Gravity Wheel Theory - anti-clockwise then clockwise.
The wave packet in the old wheel had a longer wave length (70+).

Gravity Wheel 2009. 4 waves 30° forced rotation under a 1kg load.
4 wave wheel confirming 30° forced rotation under a load of 1 kg (pasta packet).
Note the forced rotation happens when equal and opposite waves open/fully close under the force of gravity.
