That sounds unlikely. Sarin nerve 'gas' isn't a gas, it's a liquid. Delivery requires the liquid is made airborn in the form of an aerosol so the liquid can be either inhaled into the lungs and/or absorbed through the skin. Accidentally opening a container of the highly toxic liquid isn't going to kill hundreds of people over a wide area. A bit like opening a container of insecticide in the middle of a field isn't going to kill all the insects on the farm without spraying it around.

The article actually said a container being transported by rebel factions had accidentally denoted, IIRC.

Fletcher wrote:So, has the main stream media either in the USA or elsewhere picked up on the supposedly Saudi Supply to Rebels link & published about it ? - and was there follow up articles & investigative analysis by journalists to confirm or deny the information & intelligence source & accuracy about that supposed link ? - were investigative pieces published in main stream that I can read or do I have to rely on "Before It's News" & the like where conspiracy plots & mass psychosis is the norm, & probably completely unreliable in 99% of cases ?

I don't deny that the rebels could have engineered the gas attack, or so could have the Syrian establishment, perhaps to escalate mid east tensions & push the region to a final war - who knows what agendas are in play here.

I would think however that any American plan to once again play world policeman, judge, jury, & hangman, might need a bit of credible & provable evidence that is way beyond 'reasonable doubt' - I would expect good journalists & analysts to have that information now - since American government is looking very publicly at a surgical retaliatory response against the Syrian dictatorship forces then I assume they have incontrovertible evidence & that they have shared it with other UN & world powers before going public ?

Maybe I assume to much & American is playing out its own agenda & regional interests, which it also looks like & we've seen before.
Fletcher,

I share your concern about that report. It's hard to take something like that seriously if it's only to be found in these "alternative" news sites that are normally filled with all sorts of conspiracy junk and deluded garbage.

...however...

Since I for a while thought I was going to be getting together with - and possibly even marrying and having a family with - this one young middle eastern woman I met online, I've been paying much more attention to the goings on over there in her part of the world than I probably would have otherwise. (She was even a member of the ruling family of one of the countries I'm about to mention - though in that tribal culture with their large inbred extended families that probably only means she's one of thousands - of the pretentious spoiled oil rich brats. ...lol)

Anyway, she did ultimately choose to stay there and so I think about her and her situation on occasion and what sort of mess her extended family may be into. It's been a few years since I've actually talked with her, though, and so I certainly don't have any sort of inside information. I didn't even talk about this sort of stuff with her, anyway.

Well, with all that said, and getting back to the original subject, I believe you will be able to find mainstream news sources for the following:

Saudi Arabia and the little spoiled oil and natural gas rich country Qatar (lol) have supposedly been spending the equivalent of billions of dollars of their own money to provide arms to the so-called Syrian "rebels". Qatar has even already officially recognized the main opposition group to the Assad government as the official spokesmen for the Syrian people by turning over their Syrian embassy to them.

Also, in an e-mail that was among those that were supposedly hacked from Assad's family's personal account and then leaked to the press, a daughter of the former Qatari Emir (who just recently passed on leadership to his son and her brother, btw) while addressing Assad's British born wife and her supposed friend was encouraging them to give up power and to flee - even suggesting that they could find refuge in Qatar. ...and this was supposedly sent during all that "Arab spring" stuff.

So, basically it was something like "dear friends, please leave for your own safety, you can even find sanctuary here - or my family is going to spend billions of dollars to arm rebels to oust you from power through a violent and bloody war." Of course, she didn't actually say that last part.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar are U.S. allies, of course, and off of whose soil or sand U.S. forces operated during all the Iraq war stuff, too.

The U.S. and the west, of course, encouraged the so-called Arab spring and the overthrow of many governments in the middle east and Muslim north Africa - where government leaders were violently opposed and ousted from power - and, of course, Gaddafi of Libya was even killed.

Through NATO forces, of course, the U.S. had a bit more of a hand in it all than just a little cheerleading, too.

...and, of course, most of those overthrown weren't U.S. friends or Allies, though I'm not really sure what happened there with Egypt.

Wait! Bahrain?! What are you doing? No Arab spring for you!! Okay, we'll just look this way for a moment as Saudi forces take care of that little problem.

Apparently, in the eyes of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the Syrian "regime" was on the list of those governments that were supposed to fall. ...but the U.S. backed off in their assistance.

So, there are several issues involved. There is the religious sectarian aspect where Syria's leadership and their ally Iran are of different sects of Islam. There is the political balance of power aspect in the region which even extends globally where Saudi Arabia and Qatar are allies of the U.S. and Iran and Syria have the support of Russia and maybe China. ...and, of course, there is the economic aspect that involves everyone's access and fight over middle eastern fossil fuels and the future flow of money.

Would those nations and ruling families who are already spending a great deal of their own money to arm the so-called Syrian "rebels" - or at the very least some of the individuals involved with that - be so vile as to arrange a chemical weapon attack on innocent people as a false flag operation to frame Assad and draw the U.S. back into the fight in a military way?

Sadly, I can believe that. Most of the 9/11 terrorists were Saudi born and bred, remember. So, although it may not be for them the same cause, some of the individuals involved could have a similar sort of mentality. You can sacrifice a few innocent people for a greater cause, right?
Well, I guess that's just terrorism or war in general - and business as usual for some.

While knowing all that's going on and what had happened before to other national leaders during the Arab spring - and knowing about the "red line" that Obama had spoken of, would Assad have really been so stupid as to authorize the use of chemical weapons himself?

I find that a little harder to believe, actually.

Are there people in the U.S. government so corrupt that they would be complicit with a false flag operation by Assad's opposition?

...uh...

I don't know. There were certainly people in the U.S. government willing to lie to get us into Iraq, though.

Could people in the current U.S. government administration be so stupid as to be misled and fall for fabricated lies?

Well, yeah... I can certainly believe that.

Remember how that idiot Colin Powell made a fool of himself presenting fabricated information to the U.N?! ...and to think I used to believe he was fairly intelligent for an order taking warmonger. Well, I guess that could still be true, though. ..lol

Could the mainstream press have dropped the ball on this and just accepted the governmen'ts line without thoroughly vetting everything or investigating the actual incident themselves?

Well, maybe... When the "war drums" were beating for Iraq, they got into a feeding frenzy and starting acting like they were a part of the planning team for the military operations and war machine themselves.

Anyway, I don't know.

...but it sure seems that none of the major players really care that much about the truth or the truly innocent.

Principalities... ...world leaders.

getterdone wrote:I figured that you would catch that one. The last time the UN inspectors were there to check out a chemical attack, they came back and said it was the rebels that had used them. This time they had a different mandate, basically just they where sent to Syria, to confirm if chemical weapons were used, but not who used them. That's when I realized we were in trouble.

The war propaganda machine keeps pumping out the same crap, they used to get support for the Irak war. They show the same images of the victims every night . They tell the American people that it will be short and easy, and that there going there for humanitarian reasons.

What they fail to mention is that Syria has a treaty with Iran. If one is attacked the other will defend it. The ultimate prize is Iran., Syria doesn't have much oil

I hope I'm wrong, but I can see this one out of control real quick. In the end America will win, but at what cost?....and is it necessary. Syria didn't threaten the US or Isreal
Hey getterdone,

"This time they had a different mandate, basically just they where sent to Syria, to confirm if chemical weapons were used, but not who used them."

When I heard that, I found it rather odd and disturbing, too.

Dwayne

Oh, and in my previous post I seem to have forgotten to mention the Jews (the Israelis). Surely they're a player in this, too, somehow. I guess I'll let others fill in the blanks on that one, though.

Civil War is a messy business to become involved in ,who's right, who's wrong,.....who knows....Political Leaders should step back and listen to the Head of the U.N.and give talk a chance ....God only knows the motives behind the Gung Ho talk at the moment but anyone with any sense surely understands that cruise missles fired at no matter what targets will cause the loss of life of many civilians ....cool heads are called for NOT spur of the moment decisions,God only knows where this could take us all,Israel.Iran etc...What you do in haste, you repent in hindsight....think Iraq....

Brings new meaning to Scary Kerry speaking overly forceful like it has to happen now. Scary!! We don't need to have anything with this war. Both sides hate us already. If we get in both sides may join together against us and another long drawn out war we don't need.

Surrealism of involvement in Afghanstan where the U.K. and the U.S. armed the (Mujahideen)Taliban and other Tribes to fight the Russian's (1979-1989)and years down the line the same weapons are being used on our Soldiers serving there right now.....i have to agree with Dwy and AB Hammer world policing should not be on our agenda...in Iraq every day car bombs are killing many civilians the total runs into many thousands since pull out... the mindset seems "lets get involved somewhere else"...we did'nt solve Iraq what chance Syria or any other Middle Eastern Country....How many folk here really believe our involvement in Afghanistan will make one iota of difference to that countries inhabitants way of life ,i am not a Pacifist but i do believe it's a shame that so many of our Brave Young Soldiers lose their lives for what ....Politicans should think long and hard before putting these brave young men in harms way...

huh?, we're giving someone non-lethal AIDS?
and the saudis are pushing from behind?
i should have imagined that might be frowned upon in an abrahamic region
i personally druther opt to have no truck with something like that
(sounds ungodly, unseemly, unmanly, and unsanitary fyask me)
95% of amurkins agree with me, too

i dunno--maybe i might have considered trying it ---just once-
you know: try everything once-but the guys we're aidsing make videos of themselves cutting people's hearts out and eating them
(for God.
doin' Him a favor, i guess--i guess He's so weak He can't even chew His own food, or wot?--is that the logic behind these guys?)
yeah, i'll chip in to buy THESE guys some stinger missiles
and they're chopping off the heads of coptic bishops and shit...
(so i guess we're being told we should blow up some babies with cruise missiles to show our symbolic rage that babies were gassed...
i guess that would be called taking the high road...?)
so oil can boil to crisis prices?
seems a bit lilly-livered for a red blooded amurkin, don't it?
pansy nance, milchtoast, candy assed, pantywaiste standoff cruise missiles?
wot, that genX rambo, or sumpin'?
:{/ shit, that's like wearing pink underwear
seems like if yer gonna off a baby, you could at least have the balls to look im in the eye when you skewered him, and run him thru....you know...like a warrior
oh--and we're in a muchly and loudly declared war with a fair percentage of their coalition..
so there's THAT...
nay
don't sit well with me
i have my standards y'know
lol
