Those who ran the last presentation will note the cyan mass seemed to be fixed. The mass was always directly below an anchor point.
Well instead of rotating the square around it's centre.
I am now rotating the square around the centre of it's wheels axis.
This will allow be to work on the accelerations of motion to make the cyan mass move more naturally.

Here is an image and a html zipped up page.
The code has been changed to use polar coordinates.
The arrow vectors are cartesian coordinates.
The optimization process would 1. reduces arrow vectors total lengths.
2. Keep the cyan weight within it's limits of movement.

I have re-implemented the pendulum movement and the cyan trail show the path followed.
You can look at previous images to see the stages a pendulum is assumed to follow when hanging from the anchor points as the wheel rotates.
There is more hidden code now that will allow the graphing of the accelerations. These are the affects of a mass being moved around.

When you look at the original drawings - edge on. You will see the masses move along the z-plain [depth].
This Model if it was rotating only has the X & Y plain being used.
I wonder why the drawings have this extra movement?

I brought the topic back because of a question.
Could a B' Wheel exist where the masses are moving near the rim only.
Therefore there was nothing to be seen from that region to the hub.
The item to note pinning radius.
So a mass near the rim could get pinned and one closer in would not.
How could the mass get unpinned?

Agor. Not sure what your file is supposed to be. It is missing a file extension. AFAIK, there would be no need for a Z component in the "Worcester Wheel".
So a mass near the rim could get pinned and one closer in would not.
How could the mass get unpinned?
- Decelerate it.
- Put it on another rotating structure so that it is only pinned for part of the rotation.
- Attach it to another weight with a string on the other side, so when the other weight approaches the rim, the forces are balanced out.
- Lever it inwards (some of the energy used to do so will accelerate the wheel as it changes MOI)

The file is missing .html extension and appears to be one of my 3D models.
I find myself hitting the same problem. That being getting on with a dynamic simulation product.
I am thinking of an inverted pendulum that swings out a mass to the rim and then swings back.
Not the best description which I hope the presentation will address that limitation.
