On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:

Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

Didn't New Zealand just beat Australia in an annual soccer game? What do they call that cup? I think that when New Zealand wins it's like David and Goliath. What's the population of New Zealand compared to Australia? Little island like New Zealand winning. That's got to be humiliating.

New Zealand:
  • total: 268,680 sq km (about the size of Colorado)
  • Population: 4,035,461 (July 2005 est.)
Australia
  • total: 7,686,850 sq km (slightly smaller than the US contiguous 48 states)
  • Population: 20,090,437 (July 2005 est.)
Just looked it up, cia fact book. :) What can you say.

graham,

Go here to learn about "Waltzing Matilda" it is Austrailia's unofficial National Anthem.

http://www.nla.gov.au/epubs/waltzingmatilda/

Song made a great hit in a 1959 movie titled "On the Beach" Staring Gregory Peck, Ave Gardner and Fred astaire. By Stanley Kramer, filmed in Austrailia. A film masterpiece worth watching in black and white. It depicts the end of man caused by nuclear destruction.

Merry Christmas To All from Ralphs and Gails wheel shop.

I vaguely remember that film. It depicts the crew of a US Navy submarine out in the pacific on patrol when a nuclear war breaks out. They do some calculations that show that, while the air in the northern hemisphere is lethally radioactive, the air in the southern hemisphere might be okay to breathe. So, they head for a naval base in Australia.

Everything is okay for a while after they arrive, but then, due to the mixing of air between the northern and southern hemispheres, the background radiation levels down in Australia begin to rise toward the lethal range and the crew and their new girlfriends realize that they will all soon be dead from radiation poisoning.

While that movie is interesting anti-nuke / anti-war sci-fi, I still prefer the film versions of Dicken's Christmas Carol at this time of year!
