re: Earthquake
No, I did not feel anything down here in NJ, USA during the early morning hours of Sunday. However, we had a very cold and windy night which was tending to rattle our house. Even if there had been a sizable local seismic "event", people probably would have dismissed it as being due to the wind.

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

Last quake I am aware of was 250 miles South West of Portland Or. That would put it due west of Bandon Ore. It was said to occur last Wednesday morning.
