Hi guys,
Has anyone come across a glitch in WM using circles?
General question about working model...

re: General question about working model...
What type of glitches? Working models used to crash all the time on my old computer. It was usually some type of memory problem. If the parameters happen to be just right during a full moon and you forget to cross your fingers then it explodes your model sending parts flying out from the monitor so be sure to wear your safty goggles.
And curved polygons are the secret to perpetual motion as they will push object away harder than they impact.
If you can put up with it's problems then it's a whole lot faster than hard coding a computer program and a whole lot less likely to introduce errors into the calculations. But it's far from perfect.
So, yes, it's full of glitches.

Hi Jm,
Thanks, no polygons here just 3 count'em 3 circles in rolling contact with each other. Was wondering because I've gotten one to turn not only at a steady rate, but to accelerate to over 15 rpm before my computer pops up a window saying an internal limit has been reached at 20 minutes. I've even set wind from low to high, still the same readings. Checked my accuracy settings. Same results. The only time it stops running at all if I change any of the circles physical properties.

The internal limit is 32,768 cycles. Also if your model is real complex there are array limits that it can reach but this happens very seldom. If you hit the 32,768 limit you can tell it to "start here" without resetting. This will clear any graphs but it will continue right where it left off.
There are things that can make a model speed up. Usually they are pins not located on the center of a circle. If you see little red lines start to appear on the pins then wm thinks you are stretching the pins too much and usually they will break and fly apart soon after.
The best way to test it is to build the model again being very careful to assemble everything correctly.
