Problem with viewing forum items...

Post by JohnnyD »

How Do!

I have a small problem with jpg's & animated gifs in this board. The first time I logged in, everything was fine & I could see all the jpgs witihn the posts and the animated gifs attached to poeples names on the left. Now the jpgs have vanished (even though the references to them are there) and the animations are static.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a problem with your browser. Try restarting it.

Hi! I have tried that several times, no change. Would firewalls blocking cookies have any bearing on this? (having said that, I haven't changed anything since I logged the first time). Hmmmmm...

I have run Tracks Eraser periodically and I know this can cause problems. I am a member of a programmers forum and when I run TE, the board forgets who I am & I have to log in again.

Blocking cookies could indeed affect your login but should not affect images. Are you using IE? I think there are settings in IE options that can disable animated gifs or make them only play once. In any case the problem is with your client. No one else is having this sort of problem as far as I know.
Good luck,
Scott

Just thought I'd let you know, I can now view jpgs & animations again, and I didn't change anything! I did go through all the settings, but left them alone, as they were OK. Weird...
