Site performance

Post by scott »

Hey All, I know the site has been a little slow and flaky lately. I think it is a combination of some network problems in my local area and some DOS attacks. I've been adding new firewall rules to ward off the attacks, and the phone company says they are working on their end, so it should be back to normal soon.

I think the timing of the DOS attacks is probably not a coincidence, so I will have to stay on top of those as long as I keep making enemies, I guess. :-)

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Scott,

I only wish to say that now Ken is gone, I cannot help but notice the lull after the storm. Posting has slowed considerably, but what is being posted has content.

Maybe now some of our lost productive members will consider returning. Getting Stewart back and my plea for members to use the rep bar is certainly Showing an overall view of member standing.

Some long standing members who limit their posting are somewhat ignored reputation wise. This is to be understood as it is hard to judge a person with little input although they may be of the highest integrity. I hope they understand this and do not let their low rating influence there input.
