MT Updated

Post by ovyyus »

In the interests of furthering research I've uploaded all remaining MT illustrations to www.orffyre.com Click the "maschinen tractate" button to browse all MT illustrations.

Those illustrations not yet digitized are presented as original thumbnails 'under construction' and will be replaced with my renditions as and when they are completed. Enjoy and good luck!

Most Cool Bill. Although I appreciate your work you've put into your versions, it's great to be able to see the originals, for however brief it may be. Bessler must have had a lot of fun coming up with those wacky ideas. I must make a point however to those who stated that Bessler was exact in his work-drawings, as many have the look of sloppyness. Still cool though.

WOW. I don't know how you got from those to the new pictures. I thought these things were of interest:
82, interesting use of grooves
98, appears to be a river powered water pump, perfectly workable
106, looks just like a gear to me, can't tell what 'C' is, or how it's supposed to work
111, perpetual clock?
113, upside down
107, noticed 'A' looked like a mechanism itself
'1's are written as 'i's
'A's are written differently, ex.: 104, 105

Thanks for the update I know it's a lot of work to rebuild artwork.
I can finally see all the pics now, and it will help with final details I am thinking about.

Hi Bill

I was wondering how you are now able to display the original MT images on your website - I remember you saying a while back that there were copyright issues with doing so, and the only way around this was to produce your own "artistic impressions" of the images. Even if you were able to display the originals back then, your versions would still have been worth creating - you've done a great job cleaning up the MT images. It would be great for research purposes if you were able to show the original MT images alongside your own versions on your website.

By the way - how are the books coming along? - I can't wait to get my teeth into Apologia!

All the best

Hi Stewart,

The low resolution originals are all defaced with "under construction" labels and are intended only as an indication of the state of completion of my reproductions. They are presented for research purposes only and will only remain for as long as it takes to replace them with my versions.

With such a small and select group of users, and considering that I've already reproduced more than half of the illustrations to date, I think presenting them as I have should offend no one.

I wish I could present all the originals next to my versions but I think that would be stretching it a little :) IMO, what's really needed is the accompanying notes translations posted alongside the first 50-odd drawings - anyone have a version of the MT notes translations that they'de like to donate???

I'm not offering Apologia or any other Bessler related book other than my version of MT - you need to speak with John C about that.

Hi Jonathan

Well done for spotting the different 'A's - they've been bugging me for awhile (see my separate topic).
Another thing I've noticed is that all the letters are capitalised except the letter 'i' which is always lower case.
The numbers are strange too - not only are the '1's sometimes written as 'i's, but the '2's are sometimes written as 'Z's.
In a previous post on upsidedown images in MT, I mentioned MT113 being upsidedown and possibly MT13. I originally thought the lettering on MT13 was upsidedown, but I've since noticed that there is a faint letter A on the pendulum part. The letter A is up the right way, therefore the image has been flipped horizontally not vertically! This makes more sense as the device wouldn't work at all if turned upsidedown. However, it still means that MT13 was printed in reverse - was this an accidental mistake in the carving process (the woodcuts need to be made in reverse for them to come out the right way when printed) - or a deliberate mistake? It is not just the letters that are reversed, but the whole image - the images before and after have the weights falling to the right and thus a clockwise rotation, MT13 is the opposite. Bill has corrected this on his version of MT13.

Hi Bill

Sorry, I thought you were working with John on both MT and Apologia books. Yes, it would be great to have translations of the accompanying text. Has anyone translated the text yet?

Hi Stewart,

I think Bessler made several mistakes that are apparent in his woodcuts. Eg: MT129 has a mirrored 'D', some drawings are in reverse, logical errors depicting scale or size, etc.

My impression is that Bessler's collection of woodcuts were definately not ready to publish, but rather were an ongoing and unfinished effort spread over several years. This might also explain why some groups of drawings are stylised (text, numbers, and line attributes) a little differently to others - they were perhaps done years apart.

All corrections and alterations in my drawing versions have been noted and will be included and notated with the completed drawing set.

Those scissor A's are very interesting. Bessler assures the reader on several occasions in the MT notes that a scissors-type arrangement is used in his wheel.

Hi Bill,

Thanks so much for all your hard work on finally making MT available to the Bessler community. I canÂ’t wait to buy your book! Your (almost completed) achievement has been a Herculean effort, and no doubt will go down in history as one of the greatest contributions ever made in the field of free-energy research. Myself having tried to negotiate with the Kassel Library in order to get MT published, I canÂ’t congratulate you enough on discovering, and successfully exploiting, the loophole that even they could not close. Your efforts have proved once again that blood, sweat, and tears are still the supreme currency in this world.

My take on MT is this:
  • Bessler stated on the first page that clues to the secret are contained in the document.
  • There are numerous anomalies/mistakes in the plates that often appear intentional, such as multiple versions of AÂ’s, 2Â’s, and 1Â’s on the same plate.
  • Whether Bessler actually fell or jumped to his death remains an open question. If he jumped, then surely he would have known that the MT plates would be found and printed after his death.
To me, these three facts together lend support to the idea that Bessler might indeed have placed some sort of secret code into the MT plates, just waiting to be discovered todayÂ…

Stewart asked if Apologia and other Bessler books are available. I am producing them now and they will be available from my web site soon. I know that has been said before but there have been hicccups but the Apologia will definitely be available within a couple of weeks, Das Triumphans will follow soon afterwards.

Hi Bill

You said:

I hadn't realised that he specifically stated that a scissor mechanism was used in his wheel - that's very interesting!

You obviously have some of the MT notes translated - are you willing to share these with us?

Ovyyus,

Thank you for sharing with us your work on MT. I agree the translations are of great importance. It is very interesting that Bessler indicates the scissors device is in the wheel. That, combined with the translation of the writing on the toy page provided by John Collins, will make me take another look at those toys. Have you noticed the side view of the A-B toy looks like and moves like one-half of the scissors device? Also if the vertical members of the push-pull toys were lengthened, they would resemble one section of the scissors device.
