Tesla was the modern day besla
I just tested one of tesla free energy patents and it works!!! woo hoooo, yeah! By putting a piece of aluminum foil in the air, having one side exposed and one side insulated by gluing on a sheet of paper, holding it 4 feet in the air and letting it charge a capacitor it produce .33 volts in 1 hour.
More details:
Positive side of capacitor connects to the foil, negative side attaches to earth ground
The higher it is the more energy you get
the more surface area the more energy you get.
For my test I used a 560uF capacitor

You sheet was parallel or perpendicular to ground!? . I remember vaguely that the specs was sheet perpendicular to ground .. Maybe I am wrong.. I hope not, since, if it's perpendicular, you could have greater surface area..
.33 volts, 1 hour, what was the surface area !? ..
1000x times that surface area in series, would be 330 volts.. In 1 hour.. if you were to discharge your capacitor in a 1 ohm resistor load, it would be a pulse of 0.00056sec at 330 Amps.
Or .. a pulse of 0.055999999999999994 secs thru 100 ohms at 3.3 amps
This is about 0.0015% of an hour discharge rate compared to charging time.
Remember, that's at 4 feet !!! Is the function linear or not !? .. If not, than things would get much better at greater altitude..
Maybe at 40 feet, the discharge timing would be longer with the same wattage output.. However, I wonder if you would get more than 0.1% discharge rate ..

Hello Flywheel;
This sounds like an interesting experiment. Can you provide any more details or photos? I remember reading something about this method using a copper plate.

Is the source "free energy" or is it emf in the air from radio/tv stations and nearby power lines that somebody is paying for?
I understand that the same results can be obtained by stringing a conductive fence wire on insulators and grounding one end using a standard ground rod.
It is also claimed that if that wire is running East and West, when the wind causes vibration it will cut the magnetic field of the planet also building potential at the frequency of vibration. Run it through a Wheatstone bridge rectifier and you have DC

No, according to Tesla it's the gamma ray, or radiant energy coming from space and not shielded by the ozon ..
Or something like that..
Or something like that..
I think it worked like this:
The earth's atmosphere and the earth it's self is like a giant capacitor. Whenever lightning strikes the capacitor is discharging or sparking over the dielect. When you use this setup is sucks the charge from the earth (caused by clouds moving) and stores it in your capacitor.
My setup was an 8 by 11 sheet. It was 4 feet in the air and it was perpendicular to the ground. My numbers are just a vague guess since I wasn't keeping time, I was just seeing if it would work. I'm not sure if it being perpendicular to the ground or not matters. I'm going to be making an instructable soon (possiably today) on this along with a video.

Excellent, I am and, always been, interested in Tesla experiments..
Btw, I think over time, all those experiments about Tesla were confused all around, the original experiment talks about radiant energy (at least on wikipedia).. I think the capacitor idea, is something else, or they are mixed up in my head..
I think the idea behind the capacitor earth coupling, was to use one wire electrical system thru the air, and the ground as a wire coupled thru the "earth capacitor" in resonance with radiant energy trapping coils ..

Tesla came up with many great things in his day. Nearly always his explanation of how or why it worked were totally wrong - as in this case. He thought the foil was absorbing energy of a sort that only existed in his head. In actuallity it is simply picking up radio waves in the manner of a crystal radio. Even without broadcasters and 50 thousand watt transmitters the airwaves are full of static to pick up. The amount of energy which can be gained is relative to the recievers strength - ie. area. It is fairly small per unit area. But it is relatively free, and available 24/7. If you could make a reciever which would collect all available frequencies of waves you may have something in a usable scale.
It's rather amazing that with all of Tesla's experimentation in things he didn't understand that he died of old age. I would suspect that he had a number of helpers that didn't live as long.

Wow, who are you to say that he didn't know what he did!?
I can't believe that a man that invented modern age technology didn't know anything about what he was doing...
Give concrete examples...

Concrete example:
Selling all patent rights to 3 phase 60 cycle electrical generation also known as polyphase to George Westinghouse in 1888 and then agreeing to work for him. Thus preventing any future patentable rights in and for his own personal gain.

http://inventors.about.com/od/tstartinv ... _Tesla.htm
I would surmise such actions as proof, he did not know what he was doing.

I love your mind boggling affirmations Ralph.. 8]
Tesla wasn't interested much in money.

Tesla was only interested in seeing edison's system die. It was his vindication.
