When I made an new entry to my blog today I found that my "Shout Box" had been hacked with the following (it goes on a lot longer than this sample) and try as I might I could not unhack it.

So you have been warned.

Perhaps someone thinks I was getting too close to a solution, eh!

I've never quite understood how the brand name for a tinned luncheon meat that many millions of computer users these days no doubt actually buy and eat, not so much became, but remains the source for that somewhat fear-filled term without any connection ever occurring between the two.

Seems far more reprehensible that some people would think nothing of actually spamming their own bodies with the real thing and plenty of extra mustard, naturally, than those few mindless hackers that would simply try and force feed a few other computers an equally worthless and indigestable product.

Sorry Grimer, just trying to make something of a silk purse out of the proverbial sow's ear here. LOL

Well, since we're on the subject of Spam, I thought I'd share a story about how I was almost killed by a can of Spam.

After boot camp, I spent my first year of duty on Midway Island. After that I received orders to join a mobile construction battalion (MCB-4). The battalion only had two months left on a tour of duty in Spain, so I was sent to their homeport in the states to join them when they returned. During that time I was assigned to work in a butcher shop that was part of the main galley on the base. Before long, was able to do the work well enough on my own, so that the CPO in charge would not have to show up until about 8:00 am or so. I would usually start work at 5:00 am. The butcher shop had a large walk in refrigerator and inside of that, there was a large walk in freezer, which was about a 10' x 10'. One morning I walked into the large freezer to retrieve a tray of sliced luncheon meat I had sliced the day before. The tray was on the lowest shelf of an 8' high storage rack. The tray was frozen to the shelf so I started yanking the tray back and fourth to get it loose. Unfortunate for me, I had placed several cans of Spam on the top shelf the day before. Normally I wouldn't have put them there, but I had run out of storage space and I was too lazy to try and make room for them somewhere else. There were not like the Spam cans you see in the store. Although they had the same rectangular shape, they were much wider and were about 18" long, in an olive drab colored can. Because I had stood them on end, one of them fell and hit me on the head. I felt the impact and then a sudden sharp pain. Suddenly everything started to go dark and I started loosing consciousness. I remember fighting as hard as I could not to pass out in that freezer. I was barely able to crawl out before I passed out with a nasty cut on my head. If I had not gotten out of there, they would have found my frozen body about 3 hours later. Now every time I see a can of Spam, it reminds me of that day.

The only way to do not be transformed as a zombie:
1. abandon the win#*$&@ operating system (named like an aperture in the wall)
and switch for Linux, everything is inside and safe:

2. do not enter into internet with IE navigator
3. use Firefox (as alternate navigator) with the fence against the cookies (no cookies allowed)
4. when surfing on Internet, use one of the numerous version of Linux-live CD (they don't touch at your win#*$&@ partition, and are using only the internal RAM memory)
5. don't use the same password for besslerwheelcom and your personal computer
6. make a scanner to check the open ports of your session
7. disable all unnecessary resident services, and in particular NEVER allow the remote command mode (ssh)
8. eventually use an attack detector software to identify the origin and inform the webmaster

I was a real treat in the war - probably because I was young and fats were on the ration.
When I had some a few years ago I found it far too sickly.
