Why hide your visits here?

Some members hide their visits here. Why? Ralph and Patrick are two

examples. Just curious and I'm not a cat so I don't have to worry. ;)

Just search the member list by last visit - even though their time & date doesn't show they slot in between others who do, so there is no advantage in hiding one's visits because it's obvious & a bit silly.

I started hiding my visits here a couple of years ago!

At the time I was having a problem with a now disassociated member. He thought it was either fun or self satisfying to repeatedly call me on the phone every time my name showed up on his 'buddy list'. It got to the point that my wife was screening incoming phone calls, saying that I must have been on a friends computer as I was not home.

Said member is no longer with us so I have no reason to hide my online activity, I just never went back into my profile and changed the setting.

I will for the benefit of those concerned change my profile setting tonight. Add me to your 'buddy list' and you will soon learn that I spend one h*ll of a lot of time here, it is where and how I do my innovative thinking.

Remember I am retired due to health problems, my life evolves around my research shop and this forum.

sometime ago I recall this same topic. My assistant couldn't come up with what I was looking for so I'll just say this. Fence sitters can be on both sides or neither.

In other words they eat their cake and have it also. Can you imagine how it stinks!?

What can you do? You can't hang them from the ceiling by their private parts as much as you might wish you could.

I hide my visits as other crew members (work) know I visit here and I'm not supposed to use the internet while airborne.

Now a method of finding out when I was here has been posted I guess I'll be visiting a little more infrequently.

The real reason is that for some guys, this forum is better than sex. So, just like they need to wipe their traces when they visit dirty sites, they don't want to be seen as having been here peeking.

Possibly banned members that still need their BW fix. Maybe MIBs keeping tabs. Perhaps a few Princeton or Harvard physicists who haven't come out of the BW closet. Maybe even people testing the water before they jump into the pool. Could be anything.
