Inventors Intent: Unknown
Why are you doing this...?
What drives you...?
Me personally, I do it for the future of the planet and of course the money wouldn't hurt... But most of all I try to figure it out because (drum roll please)...
It wouldn't look bad on my resume... ;P
just kidding...
But seriously folks, I believe it's what I am supposed to do...

It could be your vocation Oxygon, your true calling.
I chose "all of the above", because this is such an appealing project, that you can cover all those options that you gave, with a working device.
I just want to prove to myself that I can do it, and satisfy my ego.
I agree, it wouldn't look too bad on my CV/resume either. To get something they say can't be done to work is the challenge and achievement of a life time.
I've been laying dormant for years, waiting for a project like this to come along. I can feel the end is near...........

How about: To fulfill a prophecy.
re: Inventors Intent: Unknown

Money!!!
Actually, the biggest reason is that I hate shovelling snow so if my driveway can be heated all winter for free then that's a good enough reason to build it.

re: Inventors Intent: Unknown
Mainly just to crack his riddle, and the clues he left
Secondly because the ppm is the coolest thing there is.
And because we use all the other of earth's free energy sources, like wind solar (not earth), heat from earth core(steam plants in iceland), evaporation/condensation cycle of rain to power water turbines in dams.
Naturally gravity is the only major untapped source of power left.
So I guess the other reasons would play a part as well.
I'm just not sure I would truly be able to patent something already invented and lost and secondly, if it was able to be patented I wouldn't want to be greedy about it just enough to be comfortable on say royalties but PRIMARILY for the benefit of the world to produce physical, electrical energy output to create a CLEAN sustainable source of power. Yes putting to the MAN and his stinking gas $$prices$$ controlled by the few and powerful is a reason too.
A certain feeling of justice, and equality would drive me to share this device. Anyway I'm sure things like humantarian awards, nobel prizes and or a host of others come with MONEY anyways, could that be enough to satiate my silly desire for a little cash? Requires a little more thought on my part. I need to get finished my mock up device, I swear I'm the slowest builder there ever was, cause i think I came up with the answer months ago, and still I'm only about 70 complete. Yes call me sad I know.

Re: re: Inventors Intent: Unknown
I'll go for that one. Especially as today happens to be the 18th of June, exactly 5 years after you made the suggestion.joppa wrote:How about: To fulfill a prophecy.
