I have figured out!!!!!

Post by ribby55 »

2010 the year we finally have what was built in the 1700s. All his clues match with my design. I am looking to have it built at a power generating station. Here is the video link:

Welcome to the forum, ribby55

I can't seem to make much sense out of your video.
It is dark and whatever it is that is jiggling around
when it is rotating is hard to make out.

Maybe you should write up a few paragraphs of
what is going on. What makes this wheel turn?

Just build it, that is your simplest option. Until such time as you do, it is just an intellectual construct. No offense meant, but 99% of the forum members could draw a working device. Which wouldn't work :)

I have the technology to make this happen,,,

Not with that design you don't, sorry :-(

I say this, not out of petty jealousy, but as someone who uses Algodoo Phun software quite alot and I know it's limitations, especially within a rotating frame.

Keep up the good inquisitive work though ;-)

Judging by the movement of the weights, looks like a dual MT26 design with an offset axis with connecting springs.

Looks like it accelerates quickly but there appears to be only 4 weights.

I am doubtful but hopeful.

If you go to the video link I put some more commentary. The outer part of the wheel is invisible not to show everything. The four inner weights are being moved not by springs!!!!

I have worked hard on the different possibilities and this is the one design that will work! My test results have proven to me but building the real thing has to done once I have a backer. Until then I am completing my other smaller prototypes.

As far as a gravity powered driven motor this is the one people. This is the one...

Welcome to the forum. I have looked at your video and it is inconclusive. Phun in only good for quick ideas, IMO. Only real builds will give you the real story. But a Phun simulation is a good start.

ribby55, welcome to the forum,

You show a 6 meter wheel; 19.685 feet for the metrically challenged.

The wheel stops and starts like most any out-of-balance mechanism of some sort.

A question, "Do you have any load programmed into the generator, or is everything simply free-wheeling?

Many simulations run continually without friction or load. They simply start because of some out-of-balance that start them moving. Without a load or friction they continue moving perpetually in a simulated world.

ribby55,

Sorry but you lost me way back where you stated; I am looking to have it built at a power generating station? Power generation stations normally do not build things, they produce electricity using machines built by manufacturers.

Hi,

ribby55, if this really work ...compliments !!

triplock, what are the main limitations of Algodoo on the simulations of rotating parts?

Most new ideas are met with doubt. I have tried many different scenarios most of them did not work but this one does. I have figured out how to move the horizontal weights by counter weights. In my next video I will add virtual "brake" to add friction. At that point you will see if this motor can do work. Which I believe it can. I have done tests in the real world and it performs exactly as the simulation! I will be making a second video in due time. My goal is to seek a backer and his team to take my ideas and make the real thing. For me to build it in my garage would be alright but I would not be able to take the prototype and transport it to easily. This wheel has to be at least 6 feet in order for the weight to have enough space to move around. This is the real deal people.....

That is what http://www.arrache.org/ is here for!

We will look at your design and if found viable will build it for testing. We are however limited by shop clearance to a maximum size of 7 feet diameter.
