A starting choice...

Post by iacob alex »

.....if we try to imagine a gravity machine(motor),between the six types of known simple machines:

-inclined plane family (inclined plane,wedge,screw).

-lever family (lever,wheel and axle,pulley).

So...what "family"!?

All the best! / Alex

Am I the only one wondering if this poster is a 'bot' or a Turing test prog?

Jon,

The question as to if Alex is a bot has been raised before.

No, Alex is not a 'bot'. He lives in California, but English is not his primary language. If I remember correctly, he is from an Eastern European country. His postings have improved since he first arrived on the forum. He seldom uses whole sentences. Most of his postings are sentence fragments attempting to convey simple concepts or thoughts.

Alex used to have a website where you could view his many ideas. The link to his current listed website seems to not be working.

For some of his historical websites see:
http://www.oocities.org/iacob_alex/Inertial_Rotors.html
http://www.oocities.org/iacob_alex/Disc ... ments.html

Most forum members ignore Alex. He seems to be very intelligent, but seems to lack basic communication skills, probably due to a language barrier.

Just my opinions.

Alex is definitely NOT a bot.

In the last four decades I have had the privilege of working with
engineers from many parts of the world where English is not
the primary language. It is not just language. The local culture
and educational background molds the way people think and
approach problem solving.

This forum is an internationally and culturally diverse group and
we are better off because of it.

I don't know Iacob, but I think his post are OK. I don't claim
to understand all of them but I look forward to reading them and
try to be inspired by what he is sharing.

His dedication and prolific posting certainly inspires me.

Keep up the good work Iacob!

He is certainly not put off by the lack of attention that most of his posts seem to get.

Murilo,

A 'bot' is a robot computer program that trolls internet forums. Sometime you will see spam postings here on the forum. Such spam postings are usually the result of 'bots' or robot computer programs which attempt to herd people to their internet sites.

Alternately, 'bots' are robot computer programs that attempt to mimic human conversation on the internet.

In either case, they post messages, but they are not real people.

Thanks Jim, I now finally understand my ex-wife's speech pattern.

Alex : The first three you have listed are mostly of use if pivotted. That does not make them wheels, but allows for a possibiity of reset ? Then you might want to put them in "lever family"

IMHO

Alex has discovered the secret to PM, unfortunatley he has been given a gag order and cannot speak of it. The only way he can try to get us to look in the right direction is to provide thought experiments that give general ideas as to where to look and focus our attention. He is a man at odds with himself, he thought he was doing the right thing when he agreed to the gag. but realises that his moral obligation is much larger, but his families financial well being is also extremely important. Oh the burden of genius.

Or he could be a bot, but if he is then the programmer for that one should be a Billionare.

Alex,
I don't think gravity can be easily, nor efficiently, applied to the inclined plane family. The lever family is likely where we will find our solution.

I am more inclined to favor the KISS principal when considering a method of wheel design.

Crazy Dave,
Very imaginative... I enjoyed it. Could that thinking be the source of your nickname? lol...

James,
thanks very much for your lights!
I should think a little before asking. 8[

.....to imagine a gravity powered device , can be :
-on paper (theory )
-playing gravity fall

On paper . we can imagine so many things , as : www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMv29Wz2RDo
...but ,usually it can be a very long "mental trip" with no exit to reality, especially when you need to "originate " one (between so many others...).

Playing directly gravity fall , in "your manner" is the shortest way to "apply for" an answer from gravity and inertia.
