Pronation

Pronation
I used to play alot of Badminton. One of the keys to hitting the shuttle harder is to pronate your arm during the swing. The power gained by doing this v's straight hitting is quite remarkable.
The top tennis players all pronate when serving to gain extra power. You can also see it in golf, boxing, squash and many other sports.
Would adding a pronation action to a pendulum increase the force which is passed on during collision? The way I understand it is that you are transferring both angular and linear momentum in this manner.
If nic added pronation to his golf club wheel experiment http://besslerwheel.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight= would it produce better results than without?

This also leads to greater force in a straight line behind the ball and accordingly greater velocity
re: Pronation
Nick had proposed mounting a golf club on a pivot so that it acts like a pendulum, then having it hit a ball at the bottom of the swing.
My question is, would that ball travel further if we also put a pronation type action on the club (as golfers do), rather than just a fixed downward swing.

re: Pronation
Probably, but pronation doesn't provide additional force for free. Pronation results in additional force due to the opportunity to do additional work.clay973 wrote:My question is, would that ball travel further if we also put a pronation type action on the club (as golfers do), rather than just a fixed downward swing.

re: Pronation
Isn't pronation what make's you deaf ?
If you think you have an overunity device, think again, there is no such thing. You might just possibly have an unexpectedly efficient device. In which case you will be abducted by MIB and threatened by aliens.
re: Pronation
Might make you blind too :D
re: Pronation
Deaf? Blind?
I believe this only effects those that have earned a master-pronation degree after many years of practice.
