VAP-variable arm procedure can be your way of performing a continuous gravity unbalance ( torque difference on the same side of the fulcrum ).

Sorry Alex, iMO the chain on the center sprocket will simply walk around it and the lever/weights will not change positions.

Some years back we had a member (Magnum) that thought this was the ultimate design. No matter how hard I tried to convince him otherwise. He proceeded to start his own private sub-forum, made up of four members of his choosing. IIRC it lasted for three posts!

Hi Ralph !
I agree with you about playing continuous unbalance with a sprocket arrangement ( Magnum/2006/"Gain force from their own swinging").
Regarding VAP (variable arm procedure ) , there are a lot of different possible proposals to imagine and test...let's remind ...the so old simple hinged arm.
