Post by coylo »

This is a cool device, that popped up on my facebook news feed. I couldn't find it on youtube. It's worth a look....

I'll give everyone a clue. When I let John Collins know that the trick that Bessler used with levers was something I doubt anyone in this forum would try, this helps to explain why it is a secret. Of course, it is the good mechanic who might realize it. It would help to know how the power train on a car works. This means the "why" and not the parts.

The original video of "The Infinite Oscillation" was posted about a year ago by forum member veproject1.

Veproject1 usually posts his latest projects as they are made.

Bill,
Maybe you might consider this ? It's possible that Bessler used scissors in more than one way. and with Mt 26, the lever that Veroproject1 shows has the same bend as Bessler's.
With Bessler, his weight rolled in a track as does Veroproject1's. And as we all know, a wheel rotates. What is the opposing behavior ? Such a motion can be controlled. And this means that a weight on a lever can have it's force acting on the wheel reduced to 1/2 of it's potential.
This is why I referenced an engine. With Bessler's wheel, it would have been a perpetual engine. And with me, if i build bessler's wheel, then it would be about me and not Bessler. Yet if some people were to work together, then it would not be about who is best or better but about what Bessler did. And by people working together, it would probably be what Bessler would have wanted anyway. Everyone knows what he went through and that is because he went it alone.

edited to add; both levers can move outward to perform work. After they perform work, they can move inward again. Can it be done ? anyone who knows mechanics would say yes. Would it be easy ? Not at all. Gravity would have to do all of the work.
But once done, then it would become easier because it would be known that it works.

I hope ya'all don't mind my posing questions. Is difficult being idle.
With Mt 26, if both weight wheels are connected to each other like the top in Mt 138-141 (?), both inertia, this might be a little tricky, the weight above the axle when rolling inward or outward would be working with the opposing weight.
An example of this is if the weight below the axle rolls towards 8 o'clock, the weight above the axle is rolling towatds 2 o'clock. This should cancel gtavity's effect on them as yhry move together either toeards yhe axle or away from it.
This would make it easier to change the torque or resistance that levers create.

edited to add; I think this will work quite well. I will probably need to wait until doctors resolve my problem to do any more building.

Jim
