Use the Gravity Light as example, it has two actions in alternate
(1) first hook the weighs at the top
(2) then weighs slowly fall, till the bottom
(3) repeat (1)

Now compare with this
(1) first open the valve to do the reset (piston float up),
(2) then close the valve, let the piston slowly move down, water rise at the narrow outlet,
(3) repeat (1)

There's also the lock/unlock latch action, make it three actions;
or the action of emptying the water of the temporary container to fill up the piston, four actions....
but some design might not need this

I understand. You already have enough information to make an informed choice, but the reality of what can and cannot happen here isn't sinking in. I can't continue on this subject in this way.

Simply: this design cannot work. It is up to you to find out why.
