Is your software spying on you?

Post by sleepy »

I know there are many members here who use various software for simulating designs and what-not.I also know that many types of software have a "phone-home" type of mechanism built into them so that the company providing the software can track usage, provide updates, etc. Should we be concerned that our designs are being viewed by the software manufacturers? Has anyone looked into this?

I haven't looked into it, but my guess would be the manufacturers aren't viewing your designs even if they wanted to, or were able to, or were even allowed to view them.
