Risdon ll

Post by Jim Williams »

I haven't posted any of my own music in more than five years. So, OK, why now?

Because I want to.

Nice Jim. I like playing around with a guitar too. I have a spanish classical guitar. My left hand fingers don't all operate properly due to accidents so I'm inventing a mechanical device to assist with chord playing. You remind me that I need to complete it (among other things).
Thanks for the Video.

Nice playing Jim Williams

Your guitar looks like a D18 Martin. I use to have one a long time ago.

Zhyyra, sorry to hear about your difficulties. I'd guess like Beethoven being totally deaf when he composed his 9th Symphony; even with your left hand's problems, composing could still be an option.

I know I have an abundance of compositions of which I lack the dexterity to play.

Hi Alan:

Thank you!

Mine is a Martin OM-21 from 2010. What it lacks in frills is made up with the tonewoods.

Absolutely Jim, and composing is something that I enjoy. I have mainly used the computer for that. What I have attempted in the past is to make sound samples of the notes played on my guitar and then sequence them using Reaper or Audacity. I had mediocre results with that but have ideas for improvement.
Sometimes however I'd just like to strum some of my fav songs tho. Hence the need for the 'Mechano-Chord'. That's what Im calling my chord assisting invention. The wheel is taking precidence at the moment though :-)

Fair enough, those are the best reasons anyway.

I thought it ended a bit abruptly. It could have continued perpetually :-)
So I also listened to the rest...
"Easel", flamenco guitar play with a mysterious ending? As it should!

Thanks.

Oh by the way, what happened to "Risdon I"?

Thanks for listening to all my Youtube music. I still play, but I haven't uploaded in years.

Easel comes from a brief time I spent in Spain, even though not because I was there. Thank you for the comment!

I like playing the ending to Risdon ll for a while longer, but I've found people just get bored.

Risdon ll is Risdon l after practice. :)
