I like the idea here. But will everybody be honest about it without embellishments.

I'll start it out.

32 years blacksmith/armorer w/ crossover to recreation of siege weapons, cannons, Trebuchets, Catapult, Ballista. The study of historical medieval engineering just part of the job.

A few examples https://www.flickr.com/photos/abhammer/

Certified welder for compressors, including mig, tig, and stick.

Vacuum cleaner repair, rebuilding electric motors,

skilled in house construction including wiring and pluming.

Radio DJ

Other metal skills also adds jewelry and casting

Hobby skills of prosthetic makeup winning several competitions.

I have been around and have done auto mechanics off and on all my life including the rebuilding of car and motorcycle motors/engines.

This should be enough on me.

Now how about you.

No !

If you want to create a "meaningful debate", then this is exactly NOT how to do it.

EGO
The obvious obstructions to meaningful debates are the rising Ego's.
Then there's the need to blatantly show ones own current design in each and every thread where it's most of the time totally irrelevant: get your own thread!
Then there are Personal attacks, current health issues and also boasting unrelated work-skills are exactly the kinds of information nobody needs: Go to a psychologist, physician, Linked-In or something!

GREEN
I don't know for how long now, but I have the most greenies of all. But it seems an important indicator for something.
I have no influence on that and I don't know why, other than being myself. Especially weird, why should I be the only one when there are plenty capable others...
Please hit that red button if it bothers: I don't care. Or hit more greens to raise the average.
As far as I know there is no price attached, no medal of honor, no extra opportunity in finding a solution.
Logically it should be motivated by some kind appreciation or others are simply appreciated less.
Anyhow I too talk nonsense sometimes. And just like anyone else, I feel ignored sometimes: I'll live.
For anyone who wants to know my "secret"-dot-tactic, here it is:
- You get a green as something you say helps me out somehow or keeps me positively busy.
- Boasting about skills or things you honestly may have but suspect of being used as excuse for not showing makes it an exact reason for a red.

SKILL
My skills can be found splattered throughout this forum, you may look at my album where animations are grayed out: Find it yourself here on this forum!
It's for you all to decide if those are useful and helpful skills or not, but it doesn't help anyone to know where it comes from.
Knowing ones history is exactly the wrong priority here: it distracts, blinds, creates a false status, feeds envy, and lowers moral... Etc.

Hence, not only for creating wheel-overbalance but also for all our spirits: the only way is up.

TL;DR;: The only thing helping for getting meaningful debates, is to either debate or the addition of something meaningful to others. The rest is ballast.

Signed,
  • the current greenie-master.

@ME

Thank you for replying.

I smile and defend your right to not post.
However yours is a good post anyway.

I can see your skills through out the site.
It is fare that some members have a
long list of achievements were others are on their ascendancy.

Each have different perspectives and help cover a lot of ground.

May your ground say green and the sky blue.

This is to help members see what skill set I have.
For example skills outside my area need learning.
Were within the skill set I assist.

I believe a person should keep mentally open and young.
So I am of an un-determinant age and species.

I think out of the box and when I look back the box is a small
round blue dot.

I am currently orbiting this blue dot at 232 meters at a speed of 600 mph.
Lovely units anyone for base 60?

During the last decade I have been programming your silicon based units.
Using their languages in the system of how they operate.

I think its best not to supply a long list of achievements as the here and now is where I am.

So age, location and what I did a quarter of a decade ago is less important than what is possible in this eon.

Pictures transcends language
