Alois Zimmermann’s Design he sent me the forum to consider

Post by John Collins »

Alois Zimmermann sent me some information on his web site and a very nice animation showing his design. He wrote in German which I translated with the help of google and replied in the same way.

Click on second link (the gif) on his web site to see the animation.

I’m not saying that I think it’s a goer, but it is an attractive effort!

His email said, “Mr Collins,

I have the secret of the last two wheels
by Johann Bessler.

In the attached PDF I have explained the probable working principle.

The GIF file shows the movement inside.
(Note: in the bars, the process is not quite correct.) Since I always only
show the section of a 45 degree turn and then repeat
the bars do not run over each other correctly. That does not bother much).

I am not a member of a Bessler forum and therefore allow you
to share the information and bring it to the forums.

The two files are also available for download on:

Best regards
Alois Zimmermann

Nice design.

I have a topic about "the importance of raising weights", explaining (I think) exactly these kinds of designs.
Unfortunately: The gain by torque equals the cost of lift.

Great, also, the reference to the guy I posted an article some time ago :)
There must be something serious here!

Why the eight moving cogs?
They're clearly not turning against the rim...therefore fixed to it....meaning their only function is to form a fancy part of each of the eight spokes.
Surely there should just be eight straight, standard, spokes, attached to a rim, a rim with teeth to drive two cogs only...each spoke fitted with two catch/release whatever's at the appropriate points?

I'm kinda surprised that not more of you gravity seekers are commenting...perhaps you immediately see what took me a while to see?
For all its unnecessary elements, more than the ones mentioned above, I have to admire how this thing on one hand destroys one of my convictions, yet confirms another.
I've always insisted that it is impossible to constantly unbalance an axle...a fixed point in the gravitational field...yet here we clearly have exactly that.
Unfortunately, in order to achieve this, this quirky wee outcome has to be a part of an overall system, at a fixed point in the gravitational field, a system that requires a constant lifting of two weights....and, although it took me math's that I'd not used for 50yrs to reach the obvious..the energy available via imbalance equals that required to raise the two weights...exactly, of course.
Of course because give gravity a fixed point & if it's unbalanced then it will balance it...tis all it can/will ever do. Make it quirky & it'll balance it quirky....but it'll never ever drive it overunity.

Hi Gill ,

I try not to make comments on others work , just brings the forum into dispute , some don't want the truth .
If on the other hand , this idea could be slightly altered , who knows .
Let the 2 sprockets at 12 and 6 reverse their direction of travel for the lifting , then immediately there is more weight on the left side of the equation , as the top weight will come to be lifted on the downward movement , and the bottom lift will be handled closer to the wheel pivot .
Just my 2cents worth .
This is also the reason why I stated that a working wheel that relies on lifting for over balance must lift at 12 and 6 , less the wheel dia will increase with every rotation .

Nice website from Alois Zimmermann. Has he solved the riddle?
