To all of you who may have a working wheel design-I think I

Post by Gravmaster2000 »

Simple: (assuming I am not talking out of my butt again)
Let gravity do what it does best, accelerate weight downwards.
It's free and natural.
Let sleeping weights lie, and moving weights 'free' fall.
If you need to accelerate a weight, make sure it is going down first!!
No need to ever 'throw' a weight down, it will go of its own.
(end dumb masking of truth bit)

I thought of a simple mech that SEEMS to be able to out more than in, maybe 2x at lower speeds. It just simply lets a bar be balanced (or better) while a weight accelerates, than connects them together again.
Testing commences...
I know I make little sense here....I DO think I have it though!
I hope to see something work soon-by someone!!

GraveMaster,

If you decide to throw your weights do it in a SouthEast direction, I could use them here in NorthEast oregon.

All pun aside, if you think you have it "great". How soon can we see what your concept is?

Ok, an update. I am more exited but cautious about my idea now...I do NOT want to get my or anyones hopes up too high. But Working model (the sim program!!!) says my principle works, even with a totally crappy build. (NO, it is not as yet turning on its own-I have the demo and cannot save; I built it simple tonight just to test the theory) It adds in essence a gravity 'boost', turning a wheel FASTER than if a weight 'just hits it somewhere'.
I'm sure more % is possible, possibly a lot more % with a huge wheel-size helps.
Resetting the fallen weight takes off its 100% (no laws broke) BUT THERE IS UP TO 15% LEFT OVER!! (with this working model set-up) I WILL build this out-SOON! It also fits many of Besslers clues...

Weights act in pairs
let gravity do what it does best
Power from some hit(s)
wheel is balanced MOST of the time-NOT trying to overbalance it; its ALL impulse, folks!!!
I now know why his wheels were so big....
Centrifugal force has NOTHING to do with this idea, it doesn't affect it.
I also know how/why the speed is regulated, more speed=less time to accelerate weights as they go around (Oh, HUGE hint!-I will give ONE more
hint if asked on this thread!!))
very simple idea:a big groan will rise from this group when I tell all;I can
see why Mr. B hid it.....
Idea very flexible in design
May possibly be static torqued most of the time the WRONG
direction!!
with a lot of stages...not with 1 though....not all the time...
10-15% over with 1 weight set-maybe JUST enough to overcome
friction in B's first wheel? (remember? He said 1 set would barely run?!!)
# of sets ONLY limited by room in the wheel-each set very slim.
Thought about it, a bi-directional wheel maybe could be done with it...
BUT, this idea may not be 'the' bessler idea, maybe a close cousin...it
seems all parts do NOT have to turn with the wheel, as mr B said.
Mass of weight ratios to each other, wheel mass all critical for best
operation-must trim....1/2 kg makes huge diff in the overage%.

I finally get the 'Gravity needs time to act' thing Georg!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!

Some of you may have 'got it' by now, if so, that's good, BUILD it. I have left a good many clues here (with one left)

I WILL reveal all IF it works or not-I just want a running wheel beside me while I answer questions!! I also promise to video it if it works, and will show it (innards hidden-no peeking!) before the big disclosure.

I cannot describe how sure I am of this, but, I say again...until I build a model for real, I know I will eat crow for posting this-I know what is at stake...I want to prove my Dad wrong too-he would never believe it...
I hope to see something work soon-by someone!!

Okay, I'm asking, what is the one more hint?

Hi Gravmaster2000,

I believe in you. Protect your idea. Skip giving away hints and clues. Someone can get wise and beat you to the patent office with a working model. ThatÂ’s all that counts. Imagine it happeningÂ…

Everyone matches what you say with their own ideas. Anyone playing around with an idea similar to yours might get wise more easily than you think.

Take care and have good luck in construction.

As promised-LAST clue until a working real build; I will keep updated
in this thread.

Sorry, MC, I promised, I have posted too much trash before,
I'm not backing out here...

Later!!

Update: wheel now mounted, attached weight arms, working on the latches, working on the helper system.
ETA: next week, I have/can make all remaining parts.

Size: 32" (I wish it was larger!)
Current weights I am trying to use: 7 oz
(probably way too light-we will see.)

Here we go......
I hope to see something work soon-by someone!!

Hello Gravmaster2000,

I wish you well in your construction.
32 inches does seem small, it will be interesting to see what happens.
<<I finally get the 'Gravity needs time to act' thing Georg!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!>> I am sure I can agree with Georg, for I have always thought that a larger wheel will have the needed time to do what it must.
If you have what I think you do. Good luck and remember, do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.

Take care of yourself.

Some people have bad days and do not know what to do with themselves.
Goodbye, Sevich?

Lets move on to what is much more important.
Are you using a rim, spokes or moving weights? You can answer publicly or personally if you like, if at all, I will understand.
If you would like, I could send you a video of my wheel.
Do you have a megabyte limit on your server?
One video is 16 MB and can take one and a half hours to send.
It would be nice to have another opinion, on what is seen and what is not.
I am thinking of offering the video to all members of the forum, that are in good standing, for the more feedback the better,(either way).
This video could be a discussion in itself.
I have only recently seen something on the video, that I did not see before. I have contacted the people that have this video and have yet to be answered. ( Personally answered)!

On another note, I copied a picture off of the Website of Ovyyus. This site is very well done and has allot of information.
The picture was named Merseburg1. I wanted to discuss the hanging box, the rope it is attached to and why the rope is wrapped around the, or what seems to be, an axle.
To me, it seems to be a starting measure or it wraps and unwraps as the box is going up and down.
Anyway, I wrote some questions and my answers to this and when I previewed it, it disappeared. Me and computers do not get along. I will try again another day.
Maybe someone else will post this and we can get at it, some discussion.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Until then, take care.

As you don't get along with my computer can you send it back please.

Thanks Pete,

I think it's important that new people coming here see what's going on, and that Darrel realizes the lake is all dried up.
