The Great Impeach.

I want to reach across many oceans, and engaged residents in their respective third world
hell holes to participate in American politics.

Though there is no evidence of wrongdoing by either Biden, Republicans repeatedly
raised questions about Hunter Biden's position on the board of Ukraine energy company
known as Burisma -- the matter that President Trump wanted Zelensky to investigate.

During a discussion of one amendment -- which would have swapped out Biden's name in
the impeachment resolution with Hunter Biden's name and his connection to the "well-
known corrupt company Burisma" -- Gaetz questioned the $86,000 Hunter Biden received
each month
as compensation from Burisma; whether he would have gotten the job on the
board if his father had not been vice president; and sought to highlight his personal
troubles, including his struggle with substance abuse.

"Would you let your vice president have their son or daughter or family member out
moonlighting for some foreign company?" Gaetz asked his colleagues. "Maybe I'll use
language familiar to the former vice president. Come on, man. This looks dirty as it is.
Hunter Biden was making more than five times more than a board member for ExxonMobil."
What I'm noticing is very interesting facts are coming out in Trump's impeachment.
I think President Trump is playing them, them being the Democrats.

I’m guessing here, that few people have voted because they (we) don’t know enough about the accusations being made to have an informed opinion.

The claim by house democrats is that (1) President Trump abused
his power and (2)obstructed their efforts to investigate him.

That sums up the two articles they're going to have the House vote on.

For those following the impeachment:

https://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/4 ... mpeachment
That second article of impeachment charges President Trump with obstruction of
Congress for refusing to comply with the congressional subpoenas in the absence of a final
court order. In so charging him, the House Judiciary Committee has arrogated to itself the
power to decide the validity of subpoenas, and the power to determine whether claims of
executive privilege must be recognized,
both authorities that properly belong with the
judicial branch of our government, not the legislative branch. The House of Representatives
will do likewise, when it votes to approve the articles, as the chamber is expected to do so
Wednesday.
The Supreme Court ruled against the House of Representatives. I don't know if the idea of
The Fifth Amendment came into play, however often Congress has been thwarted by the
right Americans have not to be required to testify against themselves.

Different countries different laws. I don't know if other countries have that right or not.
I'm pretty sure if the authorities ask you a question in China, you better answer.:-)

To be sure, we know Nancy Pelosi has pure motives. No one could ever accuse her
of attempting to interfere in US elections.

The house is voting later today. Should be good.

the hill wrote:The decision by the Supreme Court to review the lower court rulings
involving congressional and prosecution subpoenas directed toward President Trump
undercuts the second article of impeachment that passed the House Judiciary Committee
along party lines last week.

House Democrats we're following the rules and due process outlined in the Constitution
by going through the court system to subpoena records from President Trump. When that
constitutionally outlined system didn't work for them, they usurped authority over 2
branches of government and charged President Trump with obstruction. When the rules
work for them, they believe in the rule of law. When they don't work for them, they just
ignore thim.

House Democrats knew the only legitimate way to subpoena President Trump was through the courts.

The main lesson from PoliSCI 101 is that if you control the agenda, you will control the
outcome of a democratically held election. House Democrats have expertly managed this
so far. They think they've done such a fine job, they refused to turn the matter over to the
Senate.

Politics at its finest.

Remember these facts:

Obama transferred 1.7 billion dollars to Iran during his Presidency.
Obama paraded around Bernie Bergdahl as a war hero when in fact he was a war criminal.
Obama said you could get health insurance for the cost of your cellphone bill.
Bill Clinton had sex with Monica Lewinsky while President.
Hillary had an illegal email server.
Obama was not impeached.
Hillary's defense as determined by Comey was, "She didn't know it was wrong." That is never a defense any commoner can use to get away with wrongdoing.

Impeachment is a political move with no legal ramifications.

I never condone any proven wrongdoing by any President (even Trump), but why do liberal democrats always claim this moral high-road with the opposition, but seem to turn a blind eye when it is their own?

Self-propelled opinions seem to be the Prime Mover that emphasizes unstable grounds in this debacle.
So here's my inconsequential random opinion from across the ocean:

I think that any opinion on this topic will only emphasize the two extreme non-reconciling viewpoints.
I think that the latest inquiry/"injury" also emphasized two extreme non-reconciling viewpoints.
I think the rest of that procedure will too, and will likely be to most 'interesting' part.
I think that any added detail will not solve anything, but just used to point horizontally to the other and drive the divide even more.

Besides this obviously spectacular left-right issue I think it's actually a top-bottom issue.
It's a structural issue because it's the issue of structure that polarizes opinion up to self-indoctrination.
At least, that's what I think.

Be careful y'all and best of luck.

The best course of action is to just ignore this ongoing political BS. It's all grandstanding, and the blathering claims/accusations made will wither away once actual law/procedure is applied.
But if you live for that meaningless oversaturation of daily drama, then by all means, enjoy it.
Better to apply the time toward solving Bessler's wheel instead, IMO... ;-)

There was a time when I could have bragged that my cousin Andrew was the only U.S. president to have been impeached - until that loser Bill Clinton, of course! I'm a first cousin five times removed, if I understand the lingo. Two of Andrew Johnson's grandparents were 1/64th of my 5th great grandparents.

I actually saw it documented on some paperwork in a file cabinet in the local library. My dad's mom was a Johnson and in the line of Andrew's grandfather, an uncle, and a first cousin.

I thoroughly understand the impeachment crap the dums are trying over here. It's all they have left. Trump will win again in 2020, thanks to the dums alienating many of their base.

What I really don't understand is all the Brexit stuff in the UK!

I don't want to say too much on this subject.

It must be a real issues for not wanting to upset members. It is a normal forum event.

Anyway I think the main point is: Is the United Kingdom a sovereign nation state?

After all that has been said a democratic vote happened too reaffirm this wish for this status.

However upholding sovereignty and democracy will have an affect on the economy.

It could be explained that economy is more powerful than sovereignty and democracy.

Also sovereignty is relative to how dependent to other nation states you become.

Also democracy has been eroded to becoming to weak to direct the future.

I do take the time to see this point in history from as many directions as I can.

I'm wondering if anyone agrees that Trump should be impeached could give some reason
or reasons why they think that.

The Senate trial is on track. Senators going to have to keep their mouth shut. No
electronics. I'm sure CNN's going to be there.

I actually had to cancel my cable subscription because the daily, non-stop trump comedy show on CNN was too addicting and I couldn't turn it off. Don't even care what happens anymore, but one can predict exactly what will happen: the exact same thing that has been happening since he got elected. Same show, different day.
