Pop up ads?

Post by scott »

A while ago, I toyed around a bit with various Google Ads options on the site.

But lately I'm seeing some very annoying pop up ads. Anyone else seeing this?

At the bottom of the page it says "ad should be here" which is what I intended.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott ,
My page also just says " ad should be here "
. I can assure the reader that there is something special behind the stork's bills.

I expect the adds that appeared when clicking on an internal link as a modal window was caused by the upgrade.

No pop-up ads for me (chrome).

I see 'ad should be here' at the bottom of the page.

The ads don't pop up for me. At times I click on the ads at the bottom. I usually have no
interest in what's advertised but from what I understand Scott gets an extra nickel or 2 if I
act like I'm interested. I'm not remotely interested.

Eta: I used to get ads but since I started using duck duck go the ads went go go gone.

A really cool thing just happened. I wasn't logged on but there was an edit button at the
above post. I clicked it and was able to edit the post. How cool is that freaky crap?

Also when I'm logged on it shows 16 members have visited but when I log off it shows 21.
I have screen shots of wierder stuff.

Ads aren't the only thing popping up.

Back in the day my office was a large closet. My desk was right outside that closet door.
To my right was a filing system with reel to reels and stacks of ACM periodicals. At the
wall orthongal to those files sat the Beast.

Let me digress. My first machine was a Trash80. I once had 5 of DEC's PDP11's in my
harim. My have things evolved. We used to load programs. 80 column cards. Then
the trekies moved in and began to launch their algorithms! Now it seems the Harry
Potter generation is in charge and they invoke their magic!

The Beast was an awesome machine in its day. I sat at the system console and
invoked the SAC command. Every file on the system bowed to my command.

How do they do that on networks these days. Give me some modern day hackers
guidance.

By the by, you wouldn't be the one hacking my stupid phone, would you? All you'll find
here is a handful of nothingness.
