If the concept of forward torque is valid, then I do not see why a hamster style wheel is difference. The cart/hamster always exert a forward torque to moves. The overbalanced create by the hamster should make up for the energy it spends running. The gain should be the forward torque.

I would be surprised if a hampster cage gave you any advantage.

How does Gravity work to produce a machine that could be under constant motion?
Gravity all by itself can not be turned off and seems to go through all matter equal
In order to have gravity only as a motor type device the amount of weight going down must go up higher than it went down in the first place
The best way of doing this is to reduce the weight going on the return trip up.
and increasing the weight on the trip going down.
But using only the one force of gravity in doing this.
( Why did Bessler use Water in his Wheel ) ? And what was the rubbing sound that it made as it ran?
Reduce the counter reaction to the Action force he Said.
And more than One wheel works better.
What happens to air as it goes deeper in depth in water? Becomes small and less buoyant: thus loosing weight in reverse.
Energy works in both directions not to be confused with just going down as gravity does.
