Fletcher has graciously agreed to SIM a description of what seems to me might be a violation of

• 1LoT

• a litany of conservation laws

• Who knows what else

I wanted to debut the idea of an inline poll.

Any one can ask a question if no one is using the feature. First make a note of the count, then ask the question.

My question, to run for one week is

• Do you like the inline Poll feature?

I'm having trouble resizing the jpeg file my camera took. The site I used to always use doesn't show up at the attachment menu.

Any help would be appreciated.

What file type? Line drawing.
How big, limit?

It is a roberval balance, rectangular
The horizontals (2) are twice as long as verticals (2).



with the pin pivots as shown. Pin the horizontals (@ their mid-points) to the background, not the upside down T as shown.

Two circular masses are pinned to the roberval. Their diameters = the height of the verticals.

The circular mass is pinned (rotating pins) to the left vertical @ its 9 o'clock position then at the CoR of the roberval.

Exercise care not to cross-brace the roberval.

The other mass is afixed to the right vertical with a ridgid pin.

Pick up one side or the other about 15-20°, then hit run.

Save various sizes of total pixels and open a post and attachment - it will give a tick if it is acceptable size, otherwise a cross. Delete redundant ones before posting.

Otherwise jb's GifCam with Postimage into the text allows far bigger files than as an attachment. Do a search for jb's recent posts in the last couple of weeks to find out how.

Bring it up on your screen .. then make a screen grab (Control and PrintScreen) of it. Paste and Save it in IrfanView (free download) as a gif file (crop before saving).

:) i made a similir thing when i did my last stuff with the rb , but i had weights on the discs , and the discs rotated around their own centres sadly there was nothing special imo .

I think this demonstrates gravity isn't conservative, yet not as friction. When I did this SIM, it gained energy by swinging.

It's like mass1 is tidally locked to the CoR while mass2 is orbiting backwards around the CoR or barry center.
