Hello "A Voice in the Wilderness," (interesting choice of pseudonyms!)

First, thanks for your post. Up until now, a post by someone calling himself "blather" was the clear winner of my "strangest post so far" award. Now, we have a contender!

I don't mean to discourage your optimism or enthusiasm here... but first of all, the device you have pictured is "overbalanced" the wrong way, and it could never reach the position you have depicted by itself. This is clearly shown by ordinary static analysis (by summing up the distances of the weights on either side of the axle and comparing them).

Please realize, I don’t have anything against religion. In fact, I am a spiritual person. But to me, claiming that God is speaking through you on these matters seems a little overbearing. And it doesn’t really add to the overall debate.

Now it’s true, Bessler was a devout Christian (...like yourself?), and he used the same kind of religious rhetoric in his writings that you've used in your posts. But he lived in the 1700's... give the guy a break!

Bessler seemed to have a lot more going for him than divine inspiration. If you'd have built a model of your device, you would have quickly seen that it doesn't work the way you envision. I would say most PM experimenters start with an idea similar to the one you have proposed here.

So, "Voice," I would say:
Go to the hardware store. Buy some wood, springs, weights, and bearings. Try out your ideas. Build models and experiment. Who knows what you can do? You might very well have something to contribute to this quest...

Best to all,
Scott
