Hi Jeff,

I don't know what the blob is to the right of the blacked out number block. Quite possible it it also a blacked out number or letter?

Yes the number next to the 'spinning top' is interesting. IMO, the jacobs ladder (if that's what it is) is number 1 and is represented with two views. The anvil characters being numbers 2 and 3 and the scissor mechanism would be number 4. In this instance the 'spinning top' addition would be number 5.

Interesting that the original number for the whole page of illustrations was probably 138 which suggests that all drawings should be viewed as connected in some manner.

Regards, ovyyus

: The drawings look great. At the top of the page on the original mt 138 there is a dark rectangular box, where I assume the page number was to go. Just right of this box is a rounded object that looks like a ball or yo-yo or something. Do you think that object is a part of the drawing or just an ink blotch? The text at the bottom begins with what looks like the number 5. I see only four items: the jacobs ladder, the top, the scissors extender, and the hammer-anvil.
: Jeff
