Hi Lurker,

Yes, it is strange that such a supposedly simple device has not been replicated. Karl also remarked on this when he said to his ministers that he was surprised no one had invented a similar machine before Bessler.

My view is that if Bessler's solution was in fact not "true PM" then how could anyone hope to replicate his demonstrations by attempting "true PM"? I don't think that's how he solved his problem.

Could it be that while the majority of wheel researchers are chasing the "overbalanced wheel" (which Bessler stated was a waste of time) they remain oblivious to any other possible solution? In fact some enthusiasts I've spoken with seem to consider that any solution that does not break or re-write fundimental laws is not worth pursuing! IMO, this thinking does not hold the best chances for success.

Personally, I don't care whether Bessler's wheel was true PM or a heat engine or even if it was driven by hungry ferrets! Replicate Bessler's recorded demonstrations, within the framework of 18th Century materials, and I will sleep well at night and die a happy man :)

Bessler's greatest critics could not replicate his wheels and he knew the ultimate arguement was with DEMONSTRATION.

: : Ovyyus responds: With such extremely limited options it will prove difficult for you to explain Bessler's demonstrations. Or perhaps by making your options so limited you feel that an easier solution is at hand (ie: delusion or suppression)?

: : Could it be possible that Bessler actually created a wheel that performed as reported without it being "true PM" as he thought? What if the weights within his wheel received additional energy from some source other than gravity (ie: heat)? There you go, there's another option to add to your list of possibilities. I wonder how many other options there are that haven't been considered yet?

: Well, let's assume that Bessler was not a fraud, and that he actually had a working device. I won't speculate on HOW it worked, assuming that it did work for the sake of argument. What I want to know is WHY no one else has ever invented the same thing, especially since everyone seems to be saying that it is so simple that even a schoolboy could build it.

: If the device is so simple, and if it really DOES work as advertised, then many people will have invented the same thing. I simply cannot believe that ONLY one man was capable of building somthing that supposedly ANYONE could build. That tells me that, IF THE DEVICE ACTUALLY WORKS, some group is keeping it secret for the purpose of their own benefit at the expense of everyone else.

: Sounds silly, I know, but when you really stop to think about all this, you HAVE to admit that if Bessler was not a fraud, then something VERY strange is going on to prevent it from becoming publicly available.
