Just to keep everyone informed, Oystein sent me basically a copy of the drawing at the bottom of the left-hand column of this site. Did the photo magic to it, was rather disappointed. I did pull up his "graph paper" lines over the Entire drawing, but nothing special was revealed inside the wheel depiction area. Did find the capillary tubes of the wood used in the woodcut, though. Just to get his draft lines after all these years to me is amazing. Not significant in finding a solution, just proves he was scaling the drawigs from something. Oystein is right on the Apologia drawing, why use dots when everything else used lines to depict the canvas cover?
From the descriptions of J.B.'s behavior I believe he may have been manic-depressive, and had found a secret so stupidly simple that it drove him over the edge even further. I also think the reason he wanted his money up front was if someione had seen how simple this thing was they might think it was not worth the high cash asked.

I'm going to go over all available drawings again, but so far only "Apologia" has coughed up anything that might possibly be unusual.

Regards to all,
