Some thoughts for Gill Simo. Fantastic ideas Gill. I didn't realise from the top view of the "flower bowl" pic that it is actually made of folded material. In the pic it looks solid. The link shows the side view.
Do you think that instead of disks, they could have used spheres?
The thing that stands out about this method is that it appears to be 3 dimensional, whereas the Bessler wheels are demonstrably 2D.
