Hi folks,

some stuff that might have been already discussed, but hey .. if so, why not twice.
Did some reading ( http://www.evert.de/eft764e.htm Perpetuum Mobile of the 4th kind - http://www.evert.de/eft732e.htm Bessler Problem solved .. *waves , Hi Georg, wie ist das Wetter dort am anderem Ende der Welt ;o)
and finally back to the Apologica. Question ... is the directed to the Merseburg wheel? To see the stamps outside the wheel, reading of how a wheel like that might need a pulsed load change to keep going and finally in the Apologica "Children play among the pillars with loud heavy clubs."
Children - paddles attached to the main shaft ?
pillars/ heavy clubs - stamps ?
Hard to believe that Bessler might have shown a mayor part of his design in public like this ... but smart one must admit. Everyone at that time might have thought that the stampers are just a demonstration of the work the wheel is able to produce. None might have imagened that the pulsed load applied to the shaft by the paddles hitting the stampers might be a mayor factor of the whole Bessler wheel design.
What about the other wheels ... for example turning an Archimedes-Screw instead of the stampers .. if you think about it this sort of load can also be pulsating if the water is moved in chambers up and empties *flush* by *flush*

Pulsed load, I can really see it in front of my eyes, Georg could you borrow me your workshop, have some ideas to try out? *laugh*. So guys, dont forget the outside of the wheel *grin*, seems not everything was hidden inside.

Other thing ... the speed of the wheels are mentioned several times, as far as I remember the Merseburg wheel with the stampers was supposed to run about 50rev/minute .. slow as some say. Fast I say ... think about it, 4 paddles going through the shaft, ends sticking out evenly, 45 degrees to each other. Each one hits one stamper 2 times/revolution, so 8 hits/revolution overall. With the wheel turning at 50rev/min that ends up with a hit onto the shaft( against the stamps, ok) every 0.15seconds, each stamp gets hit every 0.6seconds. There must have been a hell of a noise, more like a machine gun. Can't find that mentioned anywhere, just that they could here the stamps working *wump wump wump* instead of *ratatatata* ???? WAS THE SHAFT GEARED DOWN IN RELATION TO THE WHEEL ??? Does anyone have some information on this???

Ok, enough with my unsorted thoughts, I'll spare you the rest of them .. for now (yep, they jump back and forth between all the information I can get like this, sorry if it looks confusing)

Have Fun,

Rainer
