Hello David,
I think the noise was necessary to dearange the weights in the
wheel. I have described this and shown with pictures on this board.
The idea is so simple. Exzenterwheels, weights made in Besslers
time out of stones. It costs more energie to stop a excenter
than a complete wheel. If you try to stop a exzenterweigth, the
exzenterweight is able to store potential energie,
which is not possible with a full wheel.
In short form: normal physik transfers energie from
translation to rotation or rotation to translation.

Bessler did with exzenterweights: from translation to rotation + potential energie.
He uses 3 energieforms in combination. This combination is not
used by physik.
