Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
Even if you could have squeezed a human through the gap, you wouldn't have got his lunchbox through it, not for the 54 day test.

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
I thought pepper was sprinkled in the wheel, to eliminate the very serious suggestion that Bessler would have someone in the wheel turning it.

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
Proving that it would be next to impossible to create the illusion of a 12 foot wheel turning for 54 days non stop adds a great deal of weight to the idea that Bessler successfully made an over unity device. I don't see how proving that a theory you come up with, and then argue wasn't the case, bec...

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
Graham, I did say "a "what i consider to be" whacky theory". If you think your theory isn't whacky, that's fine with me. I think my theory about aliens is far whackier than your theory about stopping and restarting the wheel, if that helps. Maybe you shouldn't pay too much attent...

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
I struggle a bit with your argument there Graham. I can fully understand your wish to play devils advocate, we all do it every now and again, well at least we should. I don't see the point in inventing a, what i consider to be, whacky theory about how he could have committed fraud and then use the a...

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
I find it extremely unlikely that the wheel would have stopped without someone noticing. Even if there was some kind of sound proofing to reduce the noise, you would have thought it could either be heard, or the vibrations created by it would be felt, by the guards standing in front of the door. We ...

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
I am not too sure that the plan was to start the wheel lock the door and come back in 54 days, which would have allowed such a suggest to even be a possible way of cheating, without going into how he would have cheated to do it.

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
i don't see why we would want to know how much energy would need to be stored for lifting stones for 54 days, because for 54 days it turned without lifting stones. If we accept the records to be true, which there is no reason not to. I have heard the argument to defend the fraud theory, that he coul...

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
If it were fraud, and the power was internal, someone was replenishing the energy each night, They would need to replenish enough energy for the wheel to run at least one whole day....lifting 145 tonnes up 2m. How does that fit in a wheel. Just because you use a spring, you still have to apply the ...

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
So how do we make it make sense? Somehow he managed to store that kind of energy in the wheel, and a bit of rab in case he can't convince them to stop the test after 54 days? The committee purposely selected to detect energy from outside of the wheel causing it to turn, were all complete idiots? Car...

Re: Was Johann Bessler a fraudster?
I asked Dax's partner how much energy would need to be stored for the 54 day tes. ------------------------------------- Conclusion: To maintain continuous rotation for 54 days, Bessler's wheel would need to overcome significant energy losses due to bearing friction and air resistance. Based on the a...

Re: Hypothesis .. Raising GPE without using Law of Levers ? ..
I have never been too sure of how to take the "no weights at the perimeter of the wheel" claims. Are we talking no heavy weights, or not even the smaller weights that cause the raising of the heavy ones? If we really believe there are no weights at all, near the perimeter, then why would t...

We all lost, like we always do.
Keep looking.
