There is; a so caller binary roller / lifter, actually a pair of rollers and a drum or ring. It can lift it's own weight twice per revolution-----------------Sam

Thanks Sam, its kind of what i thought of but to be clearer: imagine you are on the first floor, and step on a mechanism that lifts you to the second floor using only your weight. I better try to build it

You might check out the wheel of death, a circus act that a guy used to do. It would lift him up pretty high. Maybe you could get an idea from that.

How about if you have a preloaded platform with upward force that matches your weight force, then when you jump in the air the platform rises until you land on it again. I think that it may have to ratchet so that it does not move down when you jump. It sounds like a fantastic workout.

See Elvin Bale Wheel of Death. I think some thing similar to that would work. The upper end would need a counter balance weight close to or equal to your own weight. It would require a latch to hold it stationary,( when you weren't on it).

To operate it; step into the ring release the latch, lean or walk a little to or, towards the pivot point. The counter weight would lift you up to the 2nd floor and step off. To get back down, step into the ring and lean or step away from the pivot point. Before you stepped off the latch would have to be engaged----------------------Sam

It would be like the binary rollers except you would take the place of one of the rollers.

This is one thing that springs to mind its basically an oscillator. This would be better done in WM2D because Algodoo's ropes are a nightmare but you get the idea. Every time you switch floors latch it.

A person can lift yourself by pulling or some interaction , lifting yourself with your own weight sounds like a funny logical fallacy like the old thing about lifting yourself by the hair , the forces are opposed at the same time .
