Re: PROCESS RESTART
On the subject of the man standing on the weigh scale and squatting fast and noticing the scale weight reading jump. That argument that the earth is coming up to meet him is such a poor argument. Why can’t the answer just be the man dropped part of his mass and the increase in the reading is his inertia of the mass having to stop.
If I was standing on your chest and squatted like that you wouldn’t get up with bruises on your back.

Re: PROCESS RESTART
My back would be dispersed among a much larger area than your feet. If I was laying down on a surface that is the size of your feet, I would get bruised on both sides. That would be a matter of kilograms per millimeter, right?
I am not saying that you are wrong. The whole space-time thing is still very confusing to me.

Who is the person you are talking to ?spinner361 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 12:54 pm For the purposes of concise communication, instead of giving coordinates for us to find a post, can you click on the double-quote link at the top right of the targeted post. then copy and paste the generated text? That would include a link that goes directly to the post. Including the time gets us in the general area, but all of us are in different time zones. I would ask the same for web links so we can go directly to what you are referring to. I am not trying to pick on anyone at all, but I am just trying to help with communication. These are just suggestions.
When you see the quotes that people post here, there is an arrow to the right of where it says, for example, "Sam Peppiatt wrote:" which is a link directly to the post of the quote.
I want to add that explanations of web links are also helpful, because weblinks do not necessarily last forever, and it can make old threads hard to understand if there is a broken link only without a description. Now I have to make sure that I take my own advice.
Its all relative.

Pour l'instant un soupçon d'espoir mais vraiment infime!!!!
Selon le PC sur lequel je travaille je n'ai pas tout à fait le même résultat??!!
For now a hint of hope but really tiny!!!
Depending on the PC I’m working on I don’t quite have the same result??!

That is odd. Maybe an error in the code resulting from the download? My copy has no inclination to rotate. Try erasing it and reinstalling it. Can you be in the same account on two different computers; I don’t even know.Shadow: For now a hint of hope but really tiny!!!

Bonjour Daxwc
Cette version ne tourne pas!! elle trouve son équilibre.
Selon l'endroit ou je suis je travaille sur deux PC différents.
Hello Daxwc
This version does not turn!! it finds its balance.
Depending on where I am I work on two different PCs.

Hi SHADOW!
You make absolutely the best pictures. I built this, not quite the same but close. Horizontally it worked great.. But, in the vertical position, all of the weight of every thing is on the crank pin, which swings the big pendulum backwards which cancels out any gain when things are horizontal.
What can I say;; this wheel is a bitch! Anyway, have a good holiday and a prosperous new year-------Sam

Re: PROCESS RESTART
Shadow,
Have you ever tried and succeeded to make an anti return mechanism like the right half of MT51?

Bonjour Robinhood,
J'ai essayé d'en faire pour le projet Thx mais cela ne marchait pas bien.
Je les recherche et vous les transmet.
Hi Robinhood,
I tried to do some for the Thx project but it didn’t work well.
I look for them and transmit them to you.

Re: PROCESS RESTART
Thanks Shadow.
It's pretty much the same as i managed.
Having a central pivot for the outer ring as well as the inner helps a bit, because it keeps everything aligned better.
Another thing that i find more precise is to make up triangles and fix them all together, as apposed to cutting out the teeth.
We still have the overlapping and spinning around of the ratchet, unless the springs are strong enough, and then they restrict rotation. Another thing to bear in mind is you can play with friction, which sometimes helps.
I think it's just a question of Algodoo's limits don't allow it.
