Re: PROCESS RESTART
In your top image in your previous post, SHADOW, The ball weight will roll to the other side of the pin once it flips all of the way around. Maybe this is what Sam Peppiatt was talking about as I didn't follow everything he described with great understanding. I do think so, yeah. He probably intends to move past the point where the peg/stopper should be and pendulum it back up for free and add the stopper peg mechanically to use the overbalance position again. I guess he means to use the sliding squares to start up the pendulum action. But why not use a spring? A slam into a spring is like a stopper with a spring and you need AN amount of force and not a preponderance of force to move the balanced beam back into position. Do I understand correctly?

Re: PROCESS RESTART
Hi SHADOW,
Beautiful drawings as always! The ring & rollers by there very natural can not, of them selves, cause the wheel to turn. However, there weight and the shifting around of there weight, inside of the rings, can be used to drive other weights. They are like a little motor.
In other words, the wheel has to turn first; then, if that happens, the rollers can do work on a separate set of weights,(what ever they might be), that will cause the wheel to turn.
There has to be two sets of weights, the rollers can't do it by them selves----------------Sam

Re: PROCESS RESTART
I think that the rollers wouldn't be able to move other weights like a motor but I did draw this which shows how the rollers could take a full turn and then reset with springs.Sam Peppiatt wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 12:14 pm Hi SHADOW,

Bonjour préoccupé,
Je ne souhaite pas inclure de ressort dans mes systèmes.
Si vous le souhaitez, vous pouvez reprendre l'idée à votre compte et y inclure des ressorts.
Bonne chance.

Preoccupied hello,
I do not wish to include a spring in my systems.
If you wish, you can take the idea on your own and include springs.
Good luck.

Re: PROCESS RESTART
Preoccupied,
I know the rollers don't look much like a motor but, they are. I only realized it a few days ago my self. The key to it is the cross-bar. Try to imagine a pin,(Also the wheel has to be turning), at the very center of the cross-bar. As the bar shifts around, the pin will trace a prefect circle and can turn a shaft.
Sense the rollers turn slower than the wheel, it, the shaft, will turn in the opposite direction with respect to the wheel------Sam

Re: PROCESS RESTART
Is this part of your idea? Sliding boxes? I might have misconstrued what I saw of yours. If I did I'm sorry. I give you credit for the inspiration anyways. If the boxes are sliding you should add more boxes to slide and this would move a bar or turbine attached to a bar. If you just roll around a circle it won't have much torque. The sliding boxes go to a balanced location and have some dip into the wheel that might not turn in itself but would be probably relatively balanced with the impacts. The movement of the sliding boxes is an engine but a ball rolling at a bottom of a circle I can't imagine would have much torque.

Oh, I see sliding boxes,
I don't know. Gads; not sure what they would do preoccupied. I don't know, I better not say--Sam
ETA, The question in my mind is; would they still be balanced? I'm afraid not but, can't be sure. If they did stay balanced it might be like a stepper motor. I would have to think that round is better.
