I am more interested what is on the opposite side of the 22 box.
It must be stronger, because the 22 box is held in place.
So the opposite side must create exact the same force, so that the forces on the rope are in balance.
If the rope is connectet to the wheel, then the wheel must create exact the torque.
If the box 22 is lifted several times then the torque of the wheel must exceed the force of box 22.
So, the weight * lever-arm (G*L) in the wheel GT is greater than the weight of box 22.
If there are many small weights in the wheel we have the sum of (G1*L1 + G2*L2 .... Gn*Ln)
Since Bessler describes that many small weights were used, the sum formula is correct.
This is true for the one-directional, self-starting wheel.
This allows to restrict the internal construction.
