Entertaining piece of work you have there :D. I'm not sure I fully understand the concept. But as for the secondary process, that's more an engineering problem than a conceptual problem ;). So I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Wouldn't let me view the file - max 10 downloads reached - you apparently need to relocate the file again Patrick - try downloading it yourself to see the mesage generated by rapidshare.

I had no problems downloading the file...BUT...

when I went to open the file with my 1997 version of MS Word
it poped open more than a dozen error boxes with the message...

"Unable to load graphics conversion filter. Continue with conversion?"

The end result of which is...I have NO pictures/images, etc.
I can read about four pages of text but can't really understand
what is going on.

I am sorry I "used up" a download that someone else might
have have experienced more useable results.

I converted it to PDF, then uploaded to the following:

http://www.mediafire.com/?ywmrdrzy0wv

See if that works...
(sorry, this free upload site has annoying popup ads)

Thanks for the PDF...I see everything now.

Now about the diagram labeled "inner hub 2"...

I don't see what is "holding up" the rod on the left side
of the wheel. I just "seems" that it is free to drop.
Everything is balanced on the peg on the right side,
but the weight on the left is much farther from the
balance point than the right weight.

The diagram says "produces lots of torque", but, exactly
what direction is that torque? If it is clockwise (as implied
by next diagram), I am not quite seeing it. All I see
is that the unsupported rod just below 9:00 o'clock will
fall toward the 6:00 o'clock peg.

I suppose there is some torque from the right weight
at 3:00 o'clock. But would there not be a collision on the
left as the falling left weight hits the peg that rising up
from 6:00 o'clock? Sort of an "MV=MV" kind of momentum
canceling event?? At that point the rod would be supported
by two adjacent pegs which is nothing like what is shown
in subsequent diagrams.

So in summary, what keeps the left weight up and/or why
would it be pushing up on the 9:00 o'clock peg to make torque?
