Nope. Light has no rest mass.
In fact all matter can be reduced to electromagnetic components. Matter being electromagnetism in various states of compression.
Is light electromagnetic? Yes. Do electrons have mass? Yes.

From Wiki entry on Photon: "The photon is massless".

I agree that the photon has no mass, or rest mass, but it's not so simple to say that light is a form of energy that has no mass, because even though photons don't have mass there is still associated mass to light when viewed as being electromagnetic. Electrons when accelerated radiate photons, and electrons absorb photons as well. All in all I have to agree that a photon carries energy, or is energy, and it has no mass, but the electron, which would be the reciever of that energy ( photon ) and creator, does.

"With the exception of gravitation, electromagnetic phenomena as described by quantum electrodynamics account for almost all physical phenomena observable to the unaided human senses, including light and other electromagnetic radiatation, all of chemistry, most of mechanics (excepting gravitation), and of course magnetism and electricity."

"In another paper published in that same year, Albert Einstein undermined the very foundations of classical electromagnetism. His theory of the photoelectric effect (for which he won the Nobel prize for physics) posited that light could exist in discrete particle-like quantities, which later came to be known as photons"

"In electromagnetism, Maxwell's equations are a set of four partial differential equations that describe the properties of the electric and magnetic fields and relate them to their sources, charge density and current density. These equations are used to show that light is an electromagnetic wave. Individually, the equations are known as Gauss's law, Gauss's law for magnetism, Faraday's law of induction, and Ampère's law with Maxwell's correction."

Good luck with that Jim W & Jim M. You are not looking for the answer, so you aren't going to find it. You are not even listening to what i'm saying - if I cared this might worry me, but it's your loss. You are a prime example of what it means to be willfully ignorant.

Do I have to spell it out for you: The falling mass has to be lifted up again. This is not a problem! Despite what you and most other people may think, I believe there is a very simple way to obtain more energy from a falling mass than is required to return it. Are you not even the slightest bit curious? No, of course not ... that would require pulling your head out of the sand, and all the discomfort this would bring ...

The secret is so simple it's embarassing, and completely compatible with the most basic Newtonian mechanics.

A comfort I find coming to this website is that I won't be expected to have an answer. That makes it easier for me to look at other's answers. My head was in the sand when I came here with a gravity as the answer. Members of this forum answered me. I looked and I saw. Every time I come here I start again with a question. I wouldn't be here if I already had the answer.

Stable matter is lazy, you need a whip and a chair to rile it up!

Unbelievable. You already have 'your' answer. Your mind is mind up. Or maybe some other people helped you to make up your mind. Either way - you have obviously closed your mind like a steel trap.

As I said - it's your loss.

The only reason i'm heckling you is to help you understand that there is a possibility that you are excluding for no good reason. It's a very simple puzzle - but you won't be able to see it in the maths unless you believe that there is a solution.

Thanks anyway - you are helping me formulate how & when I will reveal the secret. Obviously there is no point revealing it in this forum. Obviously I need a working model that even an utter moron can see working. To see and to understand will be two different things, as it does require a very basic knowledge of mathematics to understand.

Notice I said 'stable' matter. unstable matter is a whole different creature.

You're right. I wouldn't accept the math. But I don't represent this forum. I wouldn't rule out there are people here whom have the math and are all ears. I'm more like those at the Patent Office who will only accept that working model. Or that TV station here in SF waiting for me to come back with one that will light a light. I can hope there will be a solution. I just won't assume there will be.

I use to post here about how a bunch of atoms just sitting around doing nothing will form molecules and molecules will form more complicated molecules leading upto being DNA molecules. I made that up. Is that related to what you meant to exclude as stable matter?

The US Patent Office follows procedures on any invention claiming to be perpetual motion. The examiner looks up in his MPEP, (Manual of Patent Examining Procedure), how he must treat a PM invention. It tells him he must reject it as being inoperative.

But it also says he can request a working model if he wishes. If he does he could say, "I understand this, any moron could" and grant a patent. He can then place it in Class 415 Subclass 916 Perpetual Motion, all ready laid out and waiting for him. Class 415 Subclass 916 is full of patents, but none of them has a primary classification of perpetual motion as to how they work. PM is always a secondary classification, but some are real close.

The door is wide open to anyone with that working model at the Patent Office. There just aren't any.
