How about a video John? It might clear up your intended movement for many!
Edit: that includes myself.

I agree - we waited all this time, for THIS? And it took over seven months for John to release it? And he didn't even bother using a computer model to test it first? (Which would have told him that it doesn't work...)triplock wrote:John,

They would have to accept it if one produced a physical model as Bessler did.greendoor wrote: ...

And would probably not be able to accept the truth should anyone else succeed.

Bessler was adamant that five mechanisms were necessary to the successful operation of his wheel
Bessler said and i believe this is from you're book
If I arrange to have just one cross bar in my machine, it revolves very slowly
John this may not be the same type of cross bar he was referring to as it does appear unlikely that one of these would turn the wheel slowly for very long
oh by the way mama malard duck stoped by and hatched out six little ducks
this year
i been feeding them shrimp it's cheaper than crickets
mabe i could get a good deal on some of that gulf shrimp long about now
they all seem to think my patio is a public craper
sure takes a lot of hose work
any way good luck with you're design

John looking at Bessler's apparent clues, I think you need the primary arms to overlap. On your construction and in your dissertation you say since the wheels were so narrow there couldn't be overlap. But the primary levers can overlap as long as the weights don't cross past a lever.

I said I knew the principle but I had not finalised the mechanism - and anyway how do you know the principle won't work? What makes you so damn clever?triplock wrote:

Yes Tarsier, it's on my list to do asap.

John, my comment about calculation wasn't directed at you as I said "let us all" in reference to all the people arguing over sim vs build, especially on your blog.

re: www.gravitywheel.com has been updated
Someone here asked why I didn't include any of Bessler's textual references to try to add support for my hypothesis, so I have done a quick alteration to the last page/button of http://www.gravitywheel.com/html/bessler_s_clues.html and added about a dozen quotes with short comments. I will add more in due course.
Actually reading them has added to my own certainty that 'pumped swinging' or kiikiing, is the solution.

Hi John,
I like your thinking, as a swing is powered by weight distribution that could be simulated, do not try and replace the ropes with solid linkage because you will change the dynamics, what you need is rope slip pegs on a wheel ( or some like it ) that allows the rope to swing back straight, and replaces the Hands position on the power swing when engaging the wheel pegs, think of it as ratchet teeth mounted on the side of the wheel and not on the rim.
Do not try to 360 the swings just use them as positive pendulums.
This is just a quick thought, but the subject is worthy of a lot more R&D
Regards Trevor

John,
Please provide the requested images.
My questions keep me going, "Compartments, many. One side full, other empty. Weights move freely. Pins are important. Discovered by accident. Work in pairs. Only needed one rod but moved slowly." Please provide the request images asap too.

John will obtain nasty replies just like Bessler did. As Bessler fears his mechanism is so simple, people would think its worthless. When I first looked at Johns mechanism, I was like, "there is no way I could come up with something that complicated." Just like everyone else, he admitted how confident he has solved Bessler's wheel and caused everyone to wait. Then it comes to try to look at his mechanisms and say, "John, a lot of Bessler stuff is missing." Anyways, at least he stopped teasing us and posted what he was confident in all along. Lets thank him for his contributions. Although, it is sad how he had been confident he knows how the wheel works since 2003.wheelrite wrote:There are some rude and dismissive types here, personal attacks, 'facts' that arn't, and more than a little negativity, ignore them all John, Its what you get with the internet when the person is not in front of you ...and you cant pour your drink over their head....;)

re: www.gravitywheel.com has been updated
Sorry Damian, I did see it, but I was so busy trying to make a quick video and also update the last page of the website, that I overlooked what you were suggesting. Yes that could be done and in fact although mine tend to clash it could be built better and work as an overlap.
More work to do, but thanks for the suggestion. I'm really glad I put up my thoughts now on the web site because I've had so much feedback both here and privately that I have a whole new view on the mechanism and I think I was way too close to it and with not discussing it with anyone I think I got locked into a sort of loop!
Thanks Jon - sound advice. Thanks to too you Trevor.
