Respectful for those members taking their own time for some comments, I will not condemn the wrong and abrupt assertions.
These comments drove me into a big trouble coming from a deep doubt on the basic principles.
So far I decide to build a demonstrator in view to discover the truth.
Hereafter is a small video of this experiment: the device works exactly like I explained above.See here:
http://www.besslerwheel.com/forum/viewt ... c627#78284
I can now sleep well again.
Notes on this video:
- The transparent disk has a big screw as central axle. I hold this screw between my fingers (it is really hard to hold because the torque)
- when I stop to press my fingers the disk starts to rotate. I don't turn myself the axle with my fingers, it rotates alone under the torque.
- I have installed a bearing on this axle, but unfortunately I cannot hold this bearing with my first hand and fix the disk with with second hand (in that case I cannot start the camera with my foot).
- In this experiment I have respected the ratio 4:1 like used in the previous drawings above.
An additional shot allows to better see the details (The video is short because the size limitation for the attached items in this forum).
For an acceptable view, download the video in your hard disk (move the mouse on the icon, right click and select 'save the image under') and open the file with your favorite videoplayer (the best one here: http://www.videolan.org)

I cannot imagine why nobody though on this before, including myself? It is so simple!...

Dear Path_Finder,
I'm sorry. From your latest video (having only one weight) I can't see this is any different than what Bill_Mothershead said ealier.
Try to glue or bolt the weight and rod to the wheel, and you will see exactly the same behavior.
Now, what could be more interesting is if both ends of the rod had the same weight value mounted - still pivoting at B but without the stop-pin...
Or even use the pin position to varying the swing?

Hi path-finder,
the above is not the same set up as the one I commented on, and the one your link takes me to.
