I have made some changes in my hamster Wheel design.

Instead of the four bars having two weights, one on each end of bars, we have just one weight in the centre of each bar.

You will notice now, that all four weights provide torque only on the descending side of the wheels, and the lowest weight is lifted straight from the 4/5 o'clock position to the 12 o'clock position in the small (driving) wheel.

Also, weight-wise, the wheels are empty on the ascending side and full on the descending side.

Do you think that these shanges make any difference to the concept?

I cannot imagine why nobody though on this before, including myself? It is so simple!...

Each time we change something it changes in other ways as well. The weight to the middle have less effect to role the inner wheel but may be easier to manipulate. The biggest problem is center of gravity. Each time an arm is extended it changes the center of gravity to between the wheel and the extended arm and then you have to have a push somewhere to to get it to role to make the shift. A second wheel of equal weight behind the shifter wheel would be my suggestion. Note though that the wheel will have to have free wheeling ability or arms from axle to axle to the shifting wheel. But even this may have a negative factor as well for it will push the shifter wheel up the wall, but maybe to far to have a good effect.

For the past two weeks, I have been revising all my recent concepts and drawings.
I have kept all of them on hold.

For now, I am going to concentrate on my Hamster Wheel, and attempt to build a proof of concept.

A set of drawings to build an auto hamster wheel.

Drawing 1 shows a wheel rolling inside a drum wheel.

Drawing 2 shows the inside wheel with inner rim and the drum wheel with inner rim adjoining one another.

Drawing 3 shows pairs of diametrically shifting weights at ends of common arms, on inside hamster wheel, as explained at the beginning of this thread.

You keep telling to build, even after I have shown you so many of my build attempts.

So, here's my auto hamster wheel.

All I need now, is to find a hamster (i.e a set of shifting weights) to put in, and see what happens.

Most likely, the hamster will rock itself to sleep.

What's the heck! It's all fun learning in trying ...
