Re: Scotland revisited
Fletcher / 95,
Well, what can I say, when you are right, you are right. More and more I'm thinking it, the wheel, has to have continues torque, (no resetting), with translating weighted arms. They can not be grounded and pendulums won't work, (as far as I know). to hold them. So; there has to be another way----------------Sam

Re: Scotland revisited
Well Sam
Wheels were created thousand of years ago.
The first was a axle - in effect a log.
Then a disc on each end of a thinner log.
Where the log rotates with the discs.
Next the discs rotating on fixed axle.
Then 1876 casters were invented.
And the last but not least the 'Omnidirectional Wheel' 1974.
Inspired from a biblical description.
It is easy to be right and yet so wrong.
For how many people before 1876 thought there was nothing new could come from wheels.
Note.
I have one and only one pendulum concept.
I have one concept for the two way wheel that requires a special spring type.
And I have a one way wheel concept that requires a Bessler's Slip Gear.
Other ideas are trying to look at using a constant spring torque and not moving masses down or up but around.
With a layered isolated component form.
So three concepts and that it.
P.S.
Remember the hardest community too convince is here.
And building it is not enough;
for people will not believe their own eyes.
All the Best

agor95, Why do I get the feeling you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, but no matter, I have the same problem------------Sam
PS Have you ever built a wheel? Have you ever built any thing, If you don't mind me asking.

I think you are correct in this thread you have not said anything yet. I have reread your posts and there is no clues.Sam Peppiatt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 8:21 pm agor95, Why do I get the feeling you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, but no matter, I have the same problem------------Sam

I did build a MT24 once and other models of a none bessler related type.
It has been a while, but I posted to the effect; I do not build. Of cause if I have a sim that accelerates in 3 rotates then why not.
However using time and money building devices that are marginal is not really my thing.
In any case I would publish here first before building anything.

Re: Scotland revisited
I've never built a wheel and I think that I don't need to to know a working concept. You don't need to build anything to know that you're right. You only need to build a working model to make a patent application otherwise it's just art. My friend Mark is thinking about starting a laser and 3D printing business and he will build me my wheel if he starts that if he likes my designs. I have a design with a lever suspended on a spring that is constantly overbalanced. I have a design that will create infinite leverage using an overlooked part of mechanics. I have a stork's bill design that will work. That's three working designs. I know that my designs will work. I don't need to build it. If you beg me I will share it with you. Say Oh great Jon Perry. You are so great share your design I love you.

Re: Scotland revisited
Hi Jon.
I think you need to build any design, because if it only exists in your imagination, then it is not worth anything to anybody.
I think you are a bit mad, but I like you.... Or maybe I liked the other you that already time traveled back ;)

Re: Scotland revisited
My time travel duplicates are much more likeable. Other than the four other copies of me in the present time I have duplicates who died in the past such as Adolf Hitler, Archimedes, Benjamin Franklin, King David of Israel, George R. Price, George Washington, John Wilkes Booth, Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, Michelangelo, Napoleon, Sir Isaac Newton, and Vladimir Lenin. Some of my duplicates disguise themselves and some of them die as a teenager while time traveling so they are shorter or not fully grown when they die. Some of them also requested to lie about the past like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin who were identical but wanted to look different in history.
What do you think of this that I posted a while ago?

I improved the design in my YouTube video with this drawing black8.png. It's not one of the working models that I'm hiding. If you want to know the working models then you need to beg. I know the solution. So beg for it. I think that black8.png has potential. 8 weights on levers are falling in two boxes and equivalently they are turning a wheel with the equivalent of 4 weights. harnessing this obvious advantage is more difficult, but I think that you could turn a heavy flywheel and that the flywheel could periodically grab the mechanism to turn it to reload its position. It would work best if it stops and pushes the flywheel and then the flywheel grabs it after the levers fall. This would require clockwork beyond my capabilities. For my workings models I have a wheel that is unbalanced with a lever and spring and one with a stork's bill and one with a new form of leverage that can be manipulated by a gear train and produce infinite leverage.

In my early years I built self propelled toys. Watching them travel over obstacles. It's a part of growing up from cotton real tanks. To balsa wood rubber band aircraft, gliders and then remote control craft.Sam Peppiatt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:35 pm '95, I thought as much-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sam
There is a pleasure in building. Another is seeing the build functioning as it moves, flies or turns.
However building over a long period at a large cost to create something needs some evidence of functionality.
All the builds I constructed have that in common.
You may have a building and see approach.
I will not knock that route for there is always a chance.
Good Luck

Hi agor95, The idea seams to be; if you can figure it all out in your mind, you can avoid the hard work / expense of building any thing. My contention has always been; it can't be done by natural smartness! The only way it will ever be figured out, is by hard work. But, what do I know--------------Sam

That hard work is being done here by the members.
I trust you are not writing off all the members who do research?
There are different forms of hard work
No reasonable person expects to figure it all out in their mind.
I appreciate the principle maybe in plain sight but not recognised.
So a physical build could help bring the principle into sight.
I await your good news.

Forget it! I'm sorry I mentioned it. You can insult me all you want but, unless you try stuff, you're fucked; no matter how smart you are-------Sam
Re: Scotland revisited
Well I do not want to do such a thing.
You view is a valid one.
We all try stuff when the time is right.unless you try stuff

Normally a person becomes smart with hard work.Sam Peppiatt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 8:21 pm Have you ever built any thing, If you don't mind me asking.
With that their developed skills appear like they are
'naturally smart'. But alas it is only an appearance.
Now you have ask me what I have built.
It is only reasonable that what you expected of me.
You should reciprocate by answering the question
yourself.
