I guess your conclusion is still inconclusive :-)
Thanks for the time, it appears that a flywheel might help it to increase angular acceleration. That is a consideration I had not made.

I hope to see it work, may to gravitational force be with your machine :-)

Actually my conclusion is that you don't have much room to play with. And it's funny to notice that the smaller beads (weights) are responsible for the anti-clock-rotation.
The flywheel won't increase the angular acceleration, but will maintain it much longer.

Dach ME,
As to the animation of blue and purple beads,it makes this one easier to spot the trouble if you look for the LIGHTEST portion of the wheel.The lightest portion will always try to travel to,and rest at the top.In this animation,it looks as though the lightest section occurs consistently between 12 and 9 o'clock,thus providing counter-rotational force at the point where it is assumed to be driving the wheel.My head tells me it won't spin very long.Say hello to Eindhoven for me.
