Hi agor95, I'm not an expert on building the way that some people may be but I'm slowly getting there. I hope I will be able to do some basic tests with my new wheel tomorrow. Its similar to the one I have shown but I can do more with it. First I need to get it to balance well and operate the way my first one does.

Hi Roxaway59

I believe we are at the same level of craftsmanship.

I am also fabricating put it is not balanced and hopefully never will be!

Hi agor95, Ive got mine to the point where I can start doing tests on it. I just need to add some brackets to restrict movement. I have got it behaving similar to my first test wheel. Here are some pictures. The close up is where I plan putting brackets to restrict the movement of the mechanisms.

You probably need to shrink them.

I use (GIMP) GNU Image Manipulation Program.

Nice and free and runs on the main operating systems (o/s).

There is a problem with uploading files from mobile, where it does not seem to be reading the file size correctly. I would have uploaded many photos if that was working, so it is probably good that it is broken. I have uploaded zero.

You also have the option of uploading to postimage too if you are okay with putting your images on their server , you can keep the delete link to delete them from the server and you can also make them delete automatically after a time period which you can specify when uploading , or you can create a video of your photos on youtube.
Its all relative.

Hi thanks for the advice, I reduced the size of the images. I will continue modifying the mechanisms and continue experimenting tomorrow.

Builds like this make me happy. I think it reminds me of my earlier builds.

Nice work.

Thanks for the positive comments. I was worried that it might not be strong enough but it is behaving correctly at the moment. The basic simulations I performed revealed a certain size to weight aspect that I have tried to stick to so the rods are carbon fiber.

In most experiments people try to discover unknown potential problems but in my case I'm going to be trying to overcome the problems that I know are there. For anyone who has been following the thread I welcome any suggestions about how best to over-balance the main weight at 6 o'clock. In the next post I want to focus on that in detail because that is the main thing stopping this from working.
