One must go up fast and towards the center.
One must go down slowly and further from the center.
The highest point must be at or past 12 o'clock position.
The lowest point must be about or past the 5 o'clock position and before 6 o'clock position.
Hence No loss of GPE and more weights on the descending side to provide continuous torque for rotation.
DO this or leave this, the choice is yours.

"Bump" what? Is that you banging your head against a wall?
Try adding meaningful content instead of dredging up an old topic and saying nothing. You waste everybody's time with that 'bump' nonsense...

This is just my opinion but I think the kind of motion were missing is the Perpetual sort.silent wrote: This is one clue of Bessler's I find interesting:
Is there such a thing in nature as perpetual motion, or a perpetuum mobile? Is it possible for human hands to introduce into material bodies, in themselves lifeless, a permanent innate motive force, a constant interchange of rise and fall in all of its parts, of excess and deficient weight? Imagine how a heavy material body, in defiance of its natural tendency to gravitate towards the center of the earth, could be induced to rise once more. The world should see this principle, in itself so simple, and yet at the same time so deeply hidden, of everlasting motion. My invention is not fanciful. After I have gone public, you’ll hear them say: “Just look at the thing and you’ll see that there isn’t much artistry to it.
I've thought on that a lot and come up empty-handed mostly. Is there some kind of motion that we completely missing?
There is contradiction though in some of Bessler's clues because have a look at this:
“Wagner describes how he thinks my machine is constructed; he babbles about ‘excess weights’ being snatched along, by means of ‘internal motive power’, in a frequently-repeated cycle of up and down movements. According to him, nature dictates that things gravitate downwards. But the weights which rest below must, in a flash, be raised upwards, and it is this that Wagner cannot force himself to accept. AP 329 [ rest means not moving ]
So to rest means not moving, yet Bessler said that everything must go around together. You just can't take what he says as direct truth all the time. I also think he used at least 2 different systems at a minimum interacting with each other
It rests in a sense because it's in a circular path around the axle, then it magically hops up and adds energy to the wheel. Don't ask me how.
Most think there is a balanced/out of balance system moved by a prime mover.
and so when he says things like weights moving in a flash - you have no idea if those weights are the ones that propel the wheel, or if they are a series of smaller weights that move quickly on some other mechanism that initiates a movement elsewhere.
