Well, it took 10 years of experimenting to figure out that I've been running circles around the track, jumping the same hurdle over and over again, not quite sure where the 'finish' line was. With some recent experiments I figured out why most of my designs won't work (all having to do with the same 'hurdle'). Sorry if I can't give out details at this time, as I'm still working out some of the implications (and a good way to describe it. "Leverage Death Spiral" springs to mind as a title...)
Be that as it may, not all experience is wasted. Once a 'problem' is identified, it's easier to find a way (or two...) around it. Finding out why things DON'T work is just as important as finding out what DOES work.
Oh well, enough mental frothing for now.
